Things that please you...

So I was pretty weak and unfit 8 months ago. The wife got persuaded by my sister to start gyming back then and she got me interested again in exercise. After 6 months of mainly cardio I am feeling so much healthier and have started some weight training. First session I could barely bench 35KG (pathetic, I know). 3 weeks in and I am up to 45KG and progressing. Feels good to be moving in the right direction instead of the wrong direction after many years of getting more and more sedentary.

Well done. I walked more than 1KM for the first time in years yesterday, I nearly died but gotta start somewhere.

Thinking of running 5KM currently, scares me lol.
I know you are a big guy, like myself. Don't be stupid about it. I tried running a couple of years ago, and got shin splints within 50m

Dog out of the vet in good health and on Valium for two months.

Ordering a refurb laptop was a huge success
  • Seems literally as good as new. Packaging aside everything is 100s
  • Has spare SATA bay, so can transplant old SSD into new laptop
  • Refurb strategy paid off...11k equivalent all in for a ROG Strix GL502VM
  • Diagnostics seem fine

Try the park runs. Most people walk anyway so you'll feel right at home.

You can even take your dog along.

Wrapping my feet in my blanket when they are freezing cold. (must purchase slippers)

Walking into Goodwood Traffic Department last Wednesday morning and not finding a single person between myself and the licence renewal counter. :)

Very good advice. ^

When I was still 120kg and started walking I could barely manage 5km, but I kept at it. Wish there were parkruns back then, but I'm glad they are around now.

Pleased me so much today enjoying my car after a week of standing and looking pretty in the drive way. Also pleased me that I was not the one getting reared ended by an effed up old Isuzu at that traffic lights today. Don't think my car would have handled it as well as the tannie in the Polo. I feel bad for her part though, it was a hectic impact but she only had a minor scratch in the bumper.

My crash diet is working like a charm. Had a steak and some red wine on Sunday and since then only one Cup-a-Soup Lite for lunch daily. Dropped from 91.1 to 89.5 to 87.8 and I'm aiming for below 85. Might do my usual Spur breakfast on Friday, so that could be a little slowdown, but I'm pretty pleased that I can go 24 hours on one Cup-a-Soup.

Wait, so one meal a day only but you still work out?

Yeah, did that from Monday to Thursday - worked out pretty good and I will do it again this coming week. Need to get in the sub 80's before Spook Hill 15KM at the end of the month.

My Bora/Hansgrohe cycling kit arriving after three months' wait! Wish refunded me so it cost me a grand total of R25.50, and it slipped past customs' roving eye too :D

Quite pleasing. I remember some of the ones my daughter did.

Hope they offer you the chance to do the whole family under the water portrait one day.

120kg? Can’t imagine.

It's true, here is a pic of that fat guy in my wedding photos

Haven’t heard of that. Now I’m jealous as it’s not offered at the swim school here!
Some of the swimming school do that, the one we took our daughter to did that once a year.
Here is a pic of a crazy family under water
