Is this the eroticism that you were talking about, forum members showing their appreciation for each other, the subtle stroking of ego's...

You may be into something. But doesn’t always need to be appreciation.

Isn’t that the general everyday French attitude???

Just kidding!

Parisian attitude. Peasants from the hellholes surrounding Paris and obeying to us masters are quite friendly (probably trying to somehow acquire undue recognition and status).

(Not kidding at all, it's the sad reality)

That was something I did notice with my time in the French Rivera. A lot more friendly and accommodating to us when we pulled into port down near Nice.

Everybody from outside Paris hates Parisians (I'm obviously generalizing but it does hold a lot of truth) and we do deserve it, entertain it, and work for it and there is also a certain jealousy (massive GDP per capita and average income disparity between Paris and the rest of the country and the country and economy are very centralized towards Paris making the rest second class).

People from the South will usually be the friendliest to foreigner (and the most defiant to Parisians) but generally every French from the countryside will be much more friendly and open than Parisians.

God knows how much I suffered of my inherent clickiness especially when living in Spain but also in SA, the least possible clicky place. I was literally outcasting myself. :crylaugh:

Only the Yanks would turn a massacre that killed every last American into a movie opportunity and have merchandise about it sold..

I beg to differ.

French were first in turning defeat and surrendering into a fully fledge lifestyle and culture.

Don't try to appropriate what ours again!

One thing with my time here that I noticed is that there is a bit of respect from both sides as the Mexicans defeated the yanks and the yanks fought to the end against unsurvivable odds.

I can't think of a single French example, remember it has to be every person massacred, then Hollywood movies and all the merchandise you can think of (like backpacks of explosives for children).
