One thing with my time here that I noticed is that there is a bit of respect from both sides as the Mexicans defeated the yanks and the yanks fought to the end against unsurvivable odds.

I beg to differ.

I can't think of a single French example, remember it has to be every person massacred, then Hollywood movies and all the merchandise you can think of (like backpacks of explosives for children).
The French are long gone before the first shot in anger are fired.

Not even. Even the Parisian blue collar wouldn't relate with a countryside blue collar or a Parisian right wing catholic traditionalist (couldn't be more diametrally opposed to a bobo) would behave the same.

It's just a Paris culture much older than the first bobo and coming mostly from historical reasons (very centralized country, Paris being the economic and wealth powerhouse).

Don't be demeaning, some shoot in their feet (willingly to be discharged or by accident) and cannot run away fast enough to avoid being captured/killed.
