Things that please you...

Complete remission confirmed.

I only have an annual checkup from now on.

Life can start again!
Snap!

Although officially only at the end of this month!

This, after I was told I would NEVER EVER be in remission......I'm a walking miracle

But I have to see my onco twice a year for the rest of my life.

I only have to go if I have concerns, warning signs (like lymph nodes growing or sweating at night) or more side effects or the transplant and an annual checkup scanner for the rest of my life.

Well done to us!

You need to send me a Le Crueset collection as a gift

Getting paid in dollars. $$$

I've been such an idiot on this subject.

I accepted a new contract in 2013 with a contract in rands to replace a contract with a salary capped on the dollar.

I'd be able to have unicorns every day for dinner by now if I didn't stupidly agree!

Eish, if you had an option I feel your pain. Yes, much better to be paid in USD. I have one client which pays in Rands. Would have been much better if it was $.

They probably wouldn't have accepted to keep the 100% capping (when I joined the company didn't have a SA structure so we had overseas consulting contracts, then a structure was created keeping the dollar base and then we grew quickly and moved to local contracts) but maybe 50% would have been acceptable as I'm still considered as en expat. I was earning a lot for my age, way above my spendings, didn't really care or need money and didn't even try to negotiate and just stupidly signed.

Probably one of the most stupid and impactful decisions in my life so far.

I got my first Brick Link order today. This made my day. Actually, it made my year. Small beginnings. :)

Didn't you say a couple of months ago you got a promotion? Could you not have renegotiated your contract then?

I'm not really in a position to negotiate anything after 13 months working less then part time. I'm waiting at least until February.

They don't do capped at all anymore anyway.

So how did you get a promotion then?

So how did you get a promotion then?

I still wonder, it was totally unexpected.

It does make sense though, we expand and needed a new position above mine to look more corporate, don’t need an extra person yet so internal promotion was decided and I’m the most experienced and here for the longest and all other legal guys work under me, so virtually no competition.

I now need to recommend who will take my old position and that’s a tricky one, no clear winner.

Sold my Nokia 7, beautiful sunshine day outside my office window, it's Friday, I have 14 more days of unlimited data on my Rain SIM, the ride home is gonna be awesom... very pleased!
