Despite my best efforts at not opening any IDE today I got pulled into a service request. The worst kind there is where I have to teflon the issue. For the first time in years of working with an obscure compiler I notice it actually has a wonderful error stack that provides me with all the blame fodder to teflon.

My future teflon endeavors just got a lot easier :p

Finally taking a morning to renew my driving license card (which was expired for months).

Hah.

Wife went to Centurion last week. She got there at 11. 12:30, the queue hadn't moved (they call people in in groups there), guy goes in to ask what's going on, is told that they only accept 100 walk-ins per day, rest is only by appointment. Wife tells them that we already tried making an appointment and that there is nothing open for Centurion until the bookings list ends, got a reply of "Not my problem". This all, of course, ignoring the fact that people were standing there for at least 90 minutes with no idea that the 100 quota has been met.

Luckily, Brakpan had space open on the 7th, so we booked there, and since mine expires in November anyway, I decided to book one as well and take the day off. That was much more pleasant - and there they do only 20 bookings per day, and the rest only walk-ins, so the opposite of Centurion. At least until November, when it will apparently become bookings only. But they were much more pleasant and assisting.

Like you say, free for 5 more years. A bit of relief.

I've done it at a project site, in the middle of nowhere in Mpumalanga so very little queue at the main desk, that was sorted in 5 min.

But then eye test, fingerprints and picture, there were 20 people queueing, an average of 10 min per person and the guy who does the tests arrived only 30 min after I started queueing.

Then had to wait 10 min again as the cashier was on lunch break but luckily no queue.

Overall, much shorter and much less queue than in Marlboro 5 years ago, but still an insane level of inefficiency.

Bigger is better, right? Especially when it comes to voltages :)

No comment on the CPU temp. I guess these Ryzens run pretty cool at least

Just learned (via Googling) how to insert a landscape page into a portrait orientated Word document.

You're brave inserting any image into Word; I tried it once, my cell phone started smoking, car packed up, my kids started crying and my wife left me.

Pleased cos an online order got delivered just in time for the weekend.

Meeting somebody for a 30min networking business meeting (that made complete sense), ending up in 3h together with plans for tomorrow.

On the downside, the one who set up the meeting is into her and she told me she's not into him at all. I now have to refrain myself or deal with that...

I haven't been as happy as I was during these 3h since ages so I know it's the right thing to do for me and definitely worth giving it a try.

He won't lose anything because anyway she's not into him.

Still feeling crappy for betraying him though (and yes even lawyers can have morals and feelings).
