Things that please you...

SA Customs. I *only* had to wait one month and eight days for customs to clear what is, essentially, two pieces of ABS plastic. Dust caps for my i30.

GG Customs. Well f**king played.

Phoned the Cape Town branch where I registered years ago. Received my documents per email 30 minutes later. :)

Pleasantly surprised at the exceptional service from Absa Home Insurance. Geyser decided to give up the ghost today. Called Absa just after 12, and expected to have to jump through hoops and wait a couple of weeks to get them to sort it out. Took less than two minutes for the agent to tell me that someone would be coming around to have a look at the geyser. New geyser was installed before 5 and the excess was quite low too. Colour me pleased.

They are very good, I had to use them once because of a fault the house was built with - super easy and the crew they got to do the work was very skilled.

People give ABSA a lot of flack, and yes they are very expensive. As a platinum customer I spend far too much on bank fees, but they did give me prime -2 on my bond back in 2007, something no other bank would do.

Lucky for you, I'm battling a year now with them.

After a year of chasing companies to get fibre put into my complex with no movement at all, things moving at a rapid pace now. They trenched outside the complex and they have completed the site assessment. Fingers crossed that it's a matter of weeks now.
