Things that please you...

At least you will have a job - that is good news

You have no idea how good the news is, I am waiting for the final calculations but it looks to be a somewhat small salary cut, my girlfriend is most likely getting her last salary today and we have a little one on the way in August so the financial impact on myself is increasing.

Oh wow that is heavy. But perhaps she is able to find a job that let's her work from home. Hopefully. People will not be worrying about BBBEE for a while

She has a job where she can largely work from home but the factory is not allowed to operate at the moment and only a handful of their technicians have permission to work for emergency repairs as they have some equipment at factories deemed essential along with various hospitals. Unfortunately, the reality is that the bulk of their income comes from sales of equipment, so with no money in they are unable to pay salaries but are applying for funding from TERS to cover as much of the salary cost as possible.

I really hope they get it. That is really bad for them and their employees

I do too, it is a family run company, started in 1987 and is a supplier to large electricity users like factories, mines, hospitals, shopping malls, municipalities and even Eskom itself.
Wow so really bad if they are folding.

Ouch, all of the best bruh...

Some of us in our community have decided to help out families who have lost their income, and will be supplying them with a weekly food parcel, plus something extra for the kids (sweets etc). I'm willing to donate some of my money plus my time to help them out.

Thanks, all of us are in some sort of distress due to this, I am just glad to still be employed and have a salary that I am sure I can get to support us through the pandemic. We help out as much as possible with others, food donations, paying our gardener and domestic their full salaries, etc.

How's it going there?

Pretty good thanks, went for a 5km run this morning with our puppy, he went out the driveway like a teenager losing his virginity  I am waiting for feedback related to all employee's at the company I work taking a salary cut but my girlfriends family business factory is opening up partially next week which is great news. I hope there is the demand though as they have some existing orders to finish off but will obviously need new orders and call offs of existing contracts to make opening again viable.
