Things that please you...

After all the nonsense we have endured with my lad's school (grade 5, Welties), we bit the bullet and moved him to a new school. Today was his first day. It is also the first day of their 4th term.

He is bright enough to take on the challenge of the new school mid-year. He may not get his usual high aggregate, but he has time on his hands for grade 6 and I know he will excel in the new environment.

PS. He was not the only newbie starting like this today. To date, we feel justified. It costs more, but a solid education with options for our children is the one of the greatest investments we can leave behind.
He was in Welties? What other schools are there really besides all the freaking private schools? We took our son out of Mellow oaks as it was beginning to really show they knew nothing.

We were quite desperate. We went private. We did not feel we had a choice.

A scene on Wild Earth live safari this afternoon with Hyenas. Ribbon, the alpha female, vomits a thick paste of digested meat, bones and who knows what else was in it. Her two cubs rush over to scoff some of it. Then the cubs roll in it and fight over the reguritated mess.

Oh man  but these beasts know how to revile onlookers. No wonder they are among the stinkiest of mammals.

In Tswalu, Kalahari, they found a Cape Cobra on the move. In and out of burrows. Oblious to the guide and camera man on foot probably 25 - 30 metres away. What a score!

Listening to the live version of Marillion's Easter at the Royal Albert Hall. It has been on repeat for a few days now. The choreography of this is just out of this world for me. I am in seventh heaven every time I listen to this

Steve Hogarth's voice is amazing. Steve Rothery plays an acoustic guitar in the first part and switches to electric for the remainder. He is just silky smooth. Pete Trewavas is a lovely bass. The concert is accompanied by a small orchestra. There is nothing in this song that does not work for me. Just wow!

To think that I stopped listening to Marillion's music after the Fish era. I berate myself now for that. So much to catch up and backfill. I have my seventeen y/o daughter to thank for this discovery.

Much like Grant's sex parties then.
