Things that please you...

Second son is due early May so we won't be going anywhere anytime soon  This does make things easier for us should we decide to leave SA for the UK though but my wife's family and family business keep us here for now.
Do you and the kids have British passports?

I do, kids will only be eligible for ancestral visa's, based on current laws.
There must be a way to get them over and citizens before they're 18.
I believe they have to be here 3 years. Not sure what visa they'd come in on. Family I imagine.

They would be dependents of British citizens which I believe makes it easier/simpler than getting them their own visa's. Their path to citizenship is also quicker than the normal 5 years and then indefinite leave to remain process.

Hmm, my stepson had to get a family visa for his 3 year old.

It expires in I think August which is a few months short of the 3 year requirement. I think they're going to take expert advice on this.

To be honest, we haven't looked in to it properly, my wife wanted to get her application sorted first.

Some people say that the grass is not always greener on the other side .....

About two years ago an in-law who owned his own motor vehicle workshop sold his business and moved his family to Australia.

This week he was hired by Maranello Motorsport in Melbourne
