Things that please you...

"Dear Sinbad,

Because you are a valued customer, we’re pleased to invite you to an Aston Martin Racing Drive Day in Silverstone on 15th October.

Hosted by <vendor> and Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team, the event provides you the unique opportunity to experience the legendary Silverstone track in an Aston Martin car with an expert driver by your side. "

Now hopefully the work ethics/compliance people don't shoot this down.

Nice, but is it 'Modified Cupra with Methanol Injection on Semi Slicks around Kyalami' nice?

Hahaha!

It's a ****ing Aston Martin! At Silverstone!

And probably in the rain!

So, I'm gonna call it even

I was lucky enough to enjoy a drive in a V12 Vantage a few years back and I loved it although it definitely felt more GT than track car to me which is fine with my unique set of lack of driving skills.

Nice!

Enjoy it!

My wife is finally making some progress with her British citizenship application, she has been waiting since February for her Citizenship Ceremony Invite but the consulate never sent one, her certificate (Not sure what this is?) expired so an extension is being issued, she should get an invitation in a month or two.

Our oldest son has a hydrocele in his one testicle but since he is only four doctors aren't too concerned about it. He went for an ultrasound on Wednesday to have it looked at again as we are keeping an eye on it. Our domestic worker was at our place and before heading home our son told her he went for an x-ray. She made the mistake of asking why and the little guy promptly pulled his pants down to show her his 'one bigger ball'...

This intro :). To think when first watched it was with my old man watching on a 74cm CRT on MNet, got the dvd box set a few years later and had the BR set for like years.
Watch it every couple of years. 20241005_121947.jpg

My gardener’s initiative.

Asked him to rake the leaves up and just tidy up some odds and ends until I can walk with him and show him what I would like done.

Does this man not rake up the leaves in record time, he also mixed up some Round-Up and sprayed the weeds on the driveway, trimmed some of the loquat branches, cut the dead branches off the rose bushes, scaled some of the yuccas and pulled off the dying leaves, swept the paving outside the verge, replanted some succulents into these potplants that I had laying about, repacked half the garage and also helped move some stuff around when the garden services arrived to trim the lawn.

All this before midday. Guy is an absolute trooper.

We have a Malawian gardener like that. Just gets on with the work and always looking for something else to do. Garden and yard is spotless when he leaves

We have got him 5 extra employers so he is busy 6 days a week

Got him a Windows XP laptop for his son in Malawi and a bicycle to get to and from his home

Paying him R450 a day now and made sure everyone pays the same. He gets breakfast and lunch here

our guy is also from Malawi.

Our previous guy was as well, but he had some issues and returned home. But our new guy really is top notch.

I need to find him a phone though as his one is broken. I see Pep sells Motorola phones now which seem pretty reasonable (I had a Moto G many moons ago). But I think I will probably go for something a bit more mainstream so I can find him some covers and accessories locally.

I randomly saw my wife's old Redmi 9T in the drawer (in bits and pieces) and remembered that it was broken and wouldn't turn on.

Plugged it in after reassembling it and lo and behold, it turned on again.

It must be the little repair fairies in the drawer that fixed it.
