Things that please you...

We have had 2 dishes this week, which were all vegetarian. Last night, it was black beans in vegetarian balls, air-fried potatoes (just like roast) and a hearty tomato sauce (tomatoes, onions, peppers, basil and seasoning). I had no idea it was veg only until I was told.

We went for lunch yesterday at Nossa Cassa (Roodepoort, Johannesburg). My daughter was with her good friend elsewhere. We enjoyed the time together. I never fail to appreciate this sort of thing.

We usually go to places where we can share platters on the table. This evening I learned that my lad asked for mussels because he knew I enjoyed this. Not his favourite. Just asked if we could order a bowl because he wanted something special for me ... I am humbled and blown away! 💛

Finding Total War - Rome on Android. Starting a game, one of my generals who literally just had a battle previously gets attacked again by a force almost 4 times the size of his.
I go into the main battle window, main force that attacked me is only a small band of light infantry and cavalry, sweet. I set up my cavalry on the side so it can do a side swipe or rear attack on the infantry as it starts marching, my main troops go into the phalanx shell formation with shields up and spears out for their cavalry charge. I sneak mine around the back and wipe out a good portion of the infantry before they've even got a chance, now their reinforcements come in and it's a massive force like huge.
My cavalry has shredded the original infantry who're now routing and my phalanx has held back theirs, with my archers already taken out the commander for that group so they are down to a few men and routing as well.
Now their main force is almost upon me, I tighten up my small force of men and get my archers behind them to try hold off their charge, while my admittedly tired cavalry goes around the back trying to spot their commander.
I lost almost all my cavalry, a lot of my men holding the line, but we beat back 1200 men vs 250 and we took less casualties. Narrowly scraping a victory as I watch 800 men run away from about 150 troops.
So women want to know why men think of the Roman empire so much? We had this game in our youths.

We are switching to Talend for our data loads and it's such a cool tool compared to what we used before! Excited to work again lol

Interesting, why didn’t you go with Microsoft fabric?

Dunno, that's out of my pay grade, but I don't think they were super keen on MS.

Also the supplier that was supposed to show it off apparently did a horrible job at it so the powers that be weren't convinced.

Haha typical. Fabric is a great experience but can become costly. You need to keep an eye on compute and storage because things can quickly get messy.

Final debit order for my Touareg went off this morning  Also figured out why our electric fence energizer was giving a low voltage warning, the kids next door obviously kicked a soccer or rugby ball in to their electric fence which was then lying on our fence.

Congrats on being debt-free wrt the wheels, @Neuk_. Now is the time to be extra cautious around other peeps on the road, knowing Murphy...
