Decided to poke around one of our applications to find out why one particular operation was taking on average 30 seconds to execute, when it should have taken no more than 5-10.

After some scratching of head and contemplation of navel, a small tweak was made to NFS mount settings last night...

Directory and file attribute cache max age.
Process was waiting for a file to be dropped, polling every 2 seconds. The initial negative result was cached for 30 seconds, even if the file was dropped a second after the first poll.
 
Finding out the car sun roof can open the whole way.
 
My favourite time of year. Christmas and everything it celebrates (yes, my roots are deeply "religious"). Time for a short break from work and rest and reflection. Spending loving, quality time with my family. A few days in the bush in the Kruger. Lots of Lego time.

I think the cherry on the top is the awesome music I enjoy from Hot 102.7 FM. Amazing shows and DJs. Ian F and Sasha Martinego are in the shows in the holidays. Amazingness!
 
Last night was the earliest sunset of the year. They start getting later from tonight, though sunrise is still getting later too for a couple of weeks.

The local PnP finally had stock of their spicy chicken wings, every time for like the last year it's just been the sauce no wings, I saw six there today and was like I'll take them please :-).
 
Driving to the office in wet weather, on a Monday, with almost zero traffic was a pleasure. Then popping in at Woolies just after the freshly-baked croissants were ready, with a lekker cappuccino

Does this thing still work?

I've been looking at the Landroid M500 and would love to see a long term opinion.
