Things that please you...

Applied for a certain role at a company last week, got a mail back saying we feel you would be a better fit for this role vibes.

Did said interview yesterday, full on panel interview with scenario-based q's, over 30mins, Went well.

Said role was not made active yet but I can absolutely do it & it is a fair step up in CTC vs my last role.

Got a mail 30mins ago, even without a job spec to work/gauge from I was able to be a "strong candidate", as long as they don't find a "stronger candidate" I should be golden right....right  😁
Got some feedback earlier. We are still in the process of reviewing applicants and conducting interviews.

So I'm very much still in the mix, I will know by the end of the week.

Been playing a properly tactical approach here & many things are in my favour so we see but I don't know the strength of the application pool.

My theme song this week:

At the absolutely worse I take that focus, drive & interview skills/confidence into other places/roles.

International Nurses Day is celebrated annually on May 12th—Florence Nightingale's birthday—to honor the vital contributions nurses make to global health.

It is so sad that good, caring nurses in our country are becoming rare. Regardless, here's acknowledging their role in our society and healthcare. May the profession once again to its former glory.

Special recognition to my wife for her years of selfless passion and dedication to the many patients she has cared for during and after hours. 30+ years in public and private, and still giving life and hope

Today, my lad (17yo) prepared supper and did an amazing job.

We received several Lego Star Wars sets from Importatoy.co.za 4 hours after placing the online order. Amazing service and my loving wife instigated this to buy for my online Lego parts online store.

My lass wrote 2 exams (Accountancy, Tax) today through Milpark that she felt were rough. My lad wrote an Accountancy test today which he felt was not the best. For both of them, we know they worked hard and it was their best effort. They remain positive and determined to excel in the subjects they are writing.

Sounds like you're living the dream bro.

Consider yourself very fortune imo

Today is Ascension day. I enjoyed a beautiful message from Angus Buchan praising this occasion.

Sigh...talk about a kick in the nuts. Not even a rejection, operational nonsense :(

Hi (Redacted),

Thank you again for your time and all your effort. We have decided to put this role on hold for the time being.

If it becomes available again and we feel you're the right fit, I'll be sure to let you know.

Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors.

Best Regards,

Oh well back on the horse.

Since my employer started their ****, I've been booking the most expensive rooms in the travel policy rather than cheap/mid rooms.

Last night I got upgraded to a suite in the middle of Cardiff 🤣

🧐

No butler though 😢

Doing things out of spite.

I reckon I accomplish most things in my life to spite someone else. And that someone is mostly my wife, and then sometimes my children, and then lastly John from Accounting.

Starting to think you need some kind of reality TV show following you around

And then what, John gets on TV as well? F%*k that and f&*k John.
See, I'll do things out of spite even it costs me.

Ah well, the spite giveth, and the spite taketh away.

The Macbook experience. I didn't love my previous foray into the Mac eco-system when I tried out a Mac mini, but this time around I'm very happy / satisfied.

Go to the supermarket, park in the sun. It's a heatwave. 28 degrees, and Richards bay level humidity.

Go and do your shopping. Supermarket is about 21 inside. Delicious.

Then shopping done, wander back to your car that's been baking in a sea of asphalt.

Open up the door and climb in and it's 20 degrees inside, because it's a EV and you set it to keep the climate control on while you were gone...

Using AliExpress, bought some watch straps for £7 (R150) and it arrived within a week, hard to not be impressed since the app and wesbite looks extremely dinky

eating hot Nando's and a garlic roll, I really enjoy taking a piece of roll and dabbing it in the hot Nando's sauce.
