Hello everyone.
I thought it would be good to write this post on this matter, it will make life a little more acceptable for most.
There are a few things i have picked up when playing World of Warcraft using IBurst. The latency is very seldom below 400ms when you are doing Dungeons or Raiding. So just for a start if you want to play the game, it is best to not play a healing or tanking class, Because at lvl Cap you will be expected to do a lot of things that are critical to the raids being a success.
I would suggest either playing a Mage, Warlock, Hunter, elemental shaman, Balance Druid. Basically all ranged DPS classes.
The reason for not being melee DPS is for example: some encounters you need to move away from the Boss fast and with the delay you will hardly ever get it right.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel though i play an Arcane Mage,
I only use a UTU Modem with not extra boosters, or extra antenna's and i manage to have fun and get a DPS of 4k+ landing me in the top 5 of Ulduar 25 dps. Questing is not a problem what so ever. Arena 2v2 is also without any problems (I dont know about 3v3 or 5v5).
Summary
If you play a ranged DPS class, you can enjoy all the aspects of the game, Though you will have to learn to compensate for the slight delay by using another ability before the first one is completed. It is doable!
Don't roll a healer or tanking class it will just cause embarrassment and frustrating once you start raiding.
I do hope this helps newbies to WoW and maybe the older players. It would have helped me when i created my Priest (Mistake) which is now just a farmer for pots
Please feel free to add suggestions or Tips and lets keep this topic alive for the WoW'ers out there.
Regards Manager
