Lived in CT a long time ago, the drive to Hout Bay is always nice, then grab a snoek & chips at Snoekies, used to be one of my fav Sun afternoon pasttimes.

If you like Sushi try Minato's in Long street (https://minatosushi.co.za/) I see they have another branch now but the long street one used to be a mom & pop shop with seriously great noms.

Has anyone mentioned the aquarium yet? Used to be quite a cool experience especially if you haven't been for a while.

Really really like Sushi, so that is a definite hit.

Yes, quite a few people mentioned the aquarium. Will see how it compares to Ushaka. :p
 
Looking at transport options.

I will have a car intermittently (family member's car). I was going to Uber for the short trips.

How safe are the MyCiTi busses? Seems to be really cheap to get to Waterfront from around Long Street (where I will be). Between R8-R12 a trip which might be cheaper than Uber.

If it's just you then the MyCiti should be fine, but if it's two of you then Uber will probably be the same price.

Minato while good is a bit of a hole in the wall shithole and not really a tourist experience.
 
Mojo market in Sea Point is pretty rad. Reminds me of the Elgin Market if that's too far out for you.
