South Africa is on the brink of a technological revolution with the introduction of 5G networks. The faster, more efficient network promises to bring significant benefits to consumers and businesses alike, including faster download and upload speeds, improved network reliability, and the ability to support a greater number of connected devices.

In this article, we take a look at the current state of 5G in South Africa and what you can expect in the coming months and years.

Finding the AI is decent for asking questions, but easy to see how shallow it is when you go down a path about a topic you know well.

It could replace initial support calls I would guess.

I am heavily involved with various AI writing assistants, and they still have a long way to go.
There are getting SO good, but ultimately, for ranking on the SERPS, you still need the human hand to do the major leg work.

This is the best article ever written on MyBB.

Where is this "increased reliability"? The 5G transmitters, where-ever they are. switch on and off without notice, vary in speed from 0 mbps to 250 mbps

The cellular providers and Rain have no clue about what might be wrong and always blame the user's equipment. MTN showed me a map of the 5G coverage area. Not 200m from the tower there was no signal, unless you were standing in the middle of the street. I asked them what the problem was and they asked me to move. What, the whole building?

When load-shedding started, it all disappeared

I logged in and played around with it a bit … it feels like an intelligence challenge to ask it questions it can’t fathom lol. What I discovered is that it has no opinions or preferences, so it won’t answer things like “What is your favourite song?” It was VERY good at writing anything in any style about anything. I asked it to write me a poem including the words “rocket”, “mug” and “glass”, and it thought for around ten seconds (I thought it had frozen) and then delivered a really decent (even emotional) poem! I asked it to write me a 300 word article on the importance of creativity, and … no problem. I asked it to describe the most important considerations when choosing a holster, and it gave me a great little writeup. It makes me wonder how much it “understands” vs just regurgitating thousands of similar articles in its dataset. But yeah, I’d take it over Siri or Google Assistant any day.

We are AI. It’s so deep we think we are actually humans. The whole pregnancy sperm thing doesn’t even make sense but we accept it anyway because it’s so deep in our code.
:)

Thank God Google is working on an AI that can detect if content is written by an AI so push it down the SERPs since it goes against their guidelines. Looks like my line of work will still be protected for a while.

I am also really impressed by the capabilities of AI writers, but they do need to be guided by a human hand and checked because when they get it wrong they can really get it wrong!

Definitely going to happen more. Plus using machine learning and typecasting certain demographics.

I work with loads of writers/content teams, and their future is safe.
Goggle is wiping out websites that are exclusively spinning AI content, and even those running programmatic SEO.
It's still a drop in the ocean, as most still rank in the SERPS. Buuuuut there is a debate if there will be a "great purge".
That won't happen soon, methinx, coz part of Google's model IS making money from traffic :)

ChatGPT has been fun to play around with some people have used it to check smart contract bugs, reverse engineering etc etc.
