Adebayor is going on about how his move to City wasn't for the money... Tosser. Why can't footballers just be honest and tell the truth - it's not that bad FFS. Makelele was know for two things in England

1. Amazing ability to break an opponents rhythm coupled with a midfield work rate comparable to a horse.

2. Being innit for da money baaaaaaaaaaaaaay-beeeee

He came to Chelsea from Real Madrid for the money (basically said it straight up) and made no excuses for it. He could have gone where-ever he wanted, but chose a payday over a club that was a "guaranteed" League winner/ Champions League contender. No one thought less of him, because he always gave 100% no matter what.

Adebayor is all fscking talk. Manages to score 30 odd goals (bearing in mind the service he got... I mean really... had he not wasted so many chances, Arsenal would have won the league comfortably) and all of a sudden his self-value is exaggerated beyond measure. Instead of focusing on doing it one more time to prove it was no fluke he made eyes at Milan, got a bumper pay rise and then promptly fscked up (in comparison to the previous season).

Mercs were used in the olden days to win a war that a country had little hope of winning, and these types are everywhere where there is money to be made. Players like Adebayor are just cheap con-men who like to pull on your heart-strings to get a few pennies more without having much substance behind their claims.

Again... Tosser.

Agreed.

Never rated him, had 1 good season, so he is now cashing in.

Good for Arsenal for getting paid.

Now Arsene will buy 3-4 youngsters and keep developing his team for the 2014 season.

I'm moaning about him being a hypocrite. He's going on about how he didn't move for the money, he wants a new challenge, likes the project - but all he ever talked about prior to being sold was money money money. I have no problem (if you had actually read my post Alan) with moving for money. Maka did it, and stated that fact openly. Every player will move for money - Karka isn't being paid in peanuts 'n raisins mate. I just really detest when a player gives excuses. Just say you moved because of the money and be finished with it - we don;t need to know your fscking life story. Seriously... people harp on about how Cashley is bad - he was at least straight about it. I want more - gimme or I'm off. None of this "it's gonna be so cool, I love the club" bullschit.

Please read that fully Alan before you erm... talk bollocks again.

I really dont think he moved just for the money mate. He was unhappy at Arsenal. The fans hated him. City were the only ones interested so I guess he had little or no choice....

Can you blame him for wanting to get away from a club where pretty much all the fans hated him?
It's no secret that he wanted to join Milan last season already.

The fans only hated him because of his desire for money, the hatred only came about in the last transfer window when he carried on like a moron

Who you trying to kid. It's for the money, nothing else.

Its not as if he chose Man City over another club like Tevez(Man United), Robinho(Chelsea) or Barry(Liverpool) did. It was basically Man City or nothing in his case.

I was just hoping he didn't muck it all up and was forced to stay at Arsenal.

I was following it non stop just to ensure Arsenal bank the 25 mil pounds.

Thank you very much, nice doing business with you citteh, don't mind if they pop in for toure as well, we can arrange that for another 15 mil pounds.

Do you think the egos of Tevez and Adebayor will be able to handle sitting on the bench and even Mr Bellamy.

Makes for a fun ride - they have 10 forwards on the books at present not including jo who is at everton on loan.

I would say it's Arshavin, Fabregas, Van Persie and Gallas.

Arsene Wenger his biggest flaw is giving the youngsters competitive salaries, irrespective - I mean the fskers have won nothing for the last 4 years.

Maybe with the financial constraints in place at Arsenal he means them just makign the top 4 is good enough as Arsenal can then at least cash the Champs League Cheque.

Who is the most paid player at Arsenal and how much?

Fabregas.

I would not say AW gives the youngsters competitive salaries,he gives them peanuts imo.

Arsenal are actually hella rich. The problem is that they use their money to make money(Property etc). Not that thats a bad thing,it is a business after all.
BUT they are too stingy to fork out cash for players, good luck attracting a big player to arsenal when you will only pay a max of 15million quid.
Ade is a tool, never really liked him and have no idea why city wasted 25mil on him.Guess the market is inflated cus of Madrid n chelski(awhile back)

The actual Arsenal wage bill begs to differ with you theratman, based on the last declared accounts.

Arsenals wage bill is the same as that of Man United and more than Liverpool.

Only problem is they are paying it to youngsters that aren't up to the task as yet, in that we're not talkign about the fabregas and the like.

But about Song, Diaby, Denilson and Eboue.

Whereas at places they have a proper hierachial structure, Arsene believes in making everyone equal or as close to that in terms of wages paid.

In that is the problem.

Ade's always been a money grabber.Even at the 2006 World Cup he was the ring leader in the Togo team that demanded more money and threatned to strike

Sorry fernand9, the fact that he was asking to paid as if he had come off a season like he did two years back is telling. No one wanted to pay good money for what is (for now) a one season pony. He shot himself in the foot. I'm willing to bet that Milan would have bought him for around the same price last mercato if Wenger was ready to sell him. He wasn't and that is that.

Oh yeah - and since when is 25k A WEEK small money. Walcotts done bugger all to deserve a mega salary. Hell, Fab is only the best paid player because of what he does on the pitch and the impact he has on games. Walcott is no where near that level currently. Watch when Walcott starts to perform blerry well fairly regularly... he will get his just desserts.

25k is small change compared to what squad members in the other big clubs earn.

You are missing my point iDOL.I did not say that they have a small wage bill.I said they paid youngsters peanuts and are stingy in the transfer market.
