Kenneth Makate is set to earn hundreds of millions after reaching an out-of-court settlement with Vodacom.

Thing is what could we have missed? Clearly the other chap came up with the idea first, but maybe it boils down to who actually got it initiated.

I also think that Voda could have made a commitment somewhere along the way. Maybe as a PR exercise in good race relations. What else would put this pressure on them?

Yeah, I suspect there's a commitment that was made that they can't wiggle out of despite all the 'technical' arguments - he was promised compensation and they're being held to that promise
