WTF is wrong with people?

People, being what they are, have an interminable capacity to do evil. That is the nature of the beast. They need therefore to be controlled by the few who have honourable intent and the interests of all at heart. Sadly though in most situations the those who express their evil are the more aggressive of the species. The honourable are therefore always at a disadvantage. Hence society is unwell.

The real problem is when the honourable allow the evil to commit their actions by creating an environment favourable to it and effectively sanctioning it. Just look at SA, the legal system explicitly favours the criminals, which puts the rest of us at a clear disadvantage.

That's what I meant by saying they are more aggressive. They force the issues to suit themselves. The passive honourables get bulldozed, by themselves not being agressive enough. Fire needs to be fought with fire.

Realistically what can we do though? The biggest threat isn't even the evil people IMO its those decent people that through some misguided notion side with them and defend them.

The solution is I think, to make crime and evil deeds not worth commiting. Bring back the death penalty for a start and let the ciminals know that you will respond in a manner that will make Atilla the Hun look like Mother Thereasa by the time you have finnished with them. And those "decent" people you refer to are in reality simply idiots posing as decent people.

Sounds good to me, problem is we don't have the power to implement it.
