This is what is destroying Eskom

People think ANC is the only reason, or people at fault. Yet they overlook their white saviour who's selling the whole country to European owned entities. Shell is owned by the UK, Total Energies South Africa is owned by France.
What does that have to do with Eskom? It's just another government failure that all the refineries have closed.

I think you need to reread your EFF pamphlet. That surely came out wrong. It’s too stupid, even for them.

Yeah I think you should largely just not try get involved in adult conversations if that is your general train of thought.

Adults huh. I'm so glad the country is in such good hands. Let's point fingers at the superficial things and hope the problem goes away.

I agree. I'm just being sarcastic to those who are overlooking the real issue and blaming it SOLELY on the government. The government is a factor, but you can't leave out any of the past CEOs and board members who were elected to manage this company. Many of whom are still earning salaries even though they're suspended. So saying the issue is ONLY THE GOVERNMENT while overlooking the another BIG issue that you and everyone else will be paying for, doesn't solve anything. The least that could be done is to stop the obvious bad decision and anything else that would worsen the state of the country.

A toxic mix of poor maintenance, a lack of skills, a shortage of spares, and poor leadership with the wrong people in critical positions are behind the worsening load-shedding in South Africa.

This year, South Africa has experienced the worst load-shedding ever, with regular power cuts across the country.

I would say this exactly what is destroying our country. Wherever government is in charge the above applies.

Lets agree to disagree. It's because of government eskom has lost its institutional knowledge causing 50% of capacity to be offline, it's because of government the railways have been ruined and now coal gets delivered by thousands and thousands of trucks increasing the cost exponentially and adding to the problems the power stations have by burning poor quality coal and creating mafias that steal the good stuff.

I agree with that

But thinking that this is a race thing and that a particular race will save us, is the dumbest thing I've read. They say the issue is the people who voted ANC since '94. So I'm assuming that would imply that pre-94, the country was great. Yet, the ANC is a byproduct of the previous government/regime. Shout out Bantu Education. I wonder who's to blame for that.
Saying the issue started 94, would mean the country was headed in the right direction. Yet something caused the previous regime to finally decide to give in. I don't think it's the protest BTW. I'm betting on it being an economical thing.

You've got the Saudi's and Dubai, beautiful city and well ran. Perfect example of how to properly manage your countries natural resources. I'd include China in that equation, without looking at their current mishaps (which they do have).
Yet in Africa (South Africa) where's your Dubai or Shanghai etc? Probably headquartered in abroad like where most of YOUR country's resources are flowing too. And what have you gotten for it? Nothing.

You've got Singapore, with minimal resources yet look what they've done and accomplished. If you want to make it about race, consider those.

If you people want to play the blame game, than boy you have no idea how much of an endless cycle that game is.

Get your sh*ts together and start working towards fixing things instead of pointing fingers. Get educated as well and stop being so superficial to a point that you overlook someone selling you off just because he looks "like the man in the mirror."

Where were you in 94?

Eskom is ****. They must decrease the salaries and pay. Not increase the tariff. They are fools to tink that they can rob people. We need to teach these fools a lesson . Go to their homes and leave them without power
