I've been looking at Trackr's Bravo as it is flat and lasts a year. It also uses peer-to-peer networking, so if it is out of range, it can utilise other people's tags. Unfortunately, it is a startup, so high risk

Ran into similar UAT issues when rolling out the device in my Enterprise. Found the easiest way to re-educate the users was to either beat them with a stick, or make it part of their KPI's.

Another thing to charge, which is going to be useless when the battery goes flat.

This doesn't come with a chargeable battery, uses a standard CR2016 battery and lasts about 6 months.

Battery life is about six months, but Protag includes one replaceable CR2016 battery – so you can expect to get a year’s worth of battery life out of the device before you pay for new batteries.

I bought one of these last week. Big waste of money. It is REALLY cheaply made. It's audio beep is so miserably weak, you almost need to be in the same room to hear it. But worst of all, it continually loses connection with my Note 3 phone. Even when they are sitting side by side on the same table, it forces my phone to ring alerting me that it is "out of range". This happens every few minutes.
