Was sitting using my tablet pc and heard my phones low batter alarm go off and it came to me. With wireless charging gaining momentum, why don't we yet see devices that can share power between each other wirelessly.

Imagine sitting on somewhere away from your charger and the battery on your phone is about to die, how cool would it be if you had your laptop/tablet with you that was fully charged and you just put your phone next to it and it starts charging it for you?

Turns out Intel have already started developing this tech, so there go my millions for selling my unique patent. Anyway here is an article on this, can't wait for this to become mainstream: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/08/29/intel_wireless_power_idt/

For quite a few phones you can buy a back cover and a wireless charger. It only works if it is On top of charger but the idea is awesome

We can actually repurpose NFC technology for this, even make it work for both information and energy sharing. But the wireless charging part is especially interesting, because you can build one of any size and resonance you want in your home with a soldering iron and a few components on a generic circuit board.

If I ever get the time and chance, I'd build a few charging loops into my kitchen and coffee tables so that when it eventually takes off, the places where people put their phones the most will leave them charged for the whole day.

I don't think I should attempt that, otherwise my friends might be leaving my place with charred phones :D

More effective charging would give removing shields from microwave oven. :)

Wireless charging with 3.3v or 5v seems ok. Imagine if it was 220v? You could probably use that as an electric fence.
