Thoughts on..

What do you deem "decent"? I bought a 1 year old car for R114,000, including the balance of a 5-year warranty and 60,000 km service plan. ABS, power steering, central locking, radio/CD, airbags.

sounds like a Picanto to me.

Just cause its a cooper S that doesn't mean its being hammered. Some people buy cars solely on looks.

Depends on the previous driver. Women are notorious for this.

"Its cute" ect. Lol middle aged ladies driving m3s @ like 40kph everywhere. Like trolls

As others have already said if you're already pushing your budget then you'd best avoid a car like this with 80K+ on the clock. The car is most likely already out of warranty (or pretty close to it) so replacement parts will be expensive. The services will also cost a pretty penny unless you plan to fork out an additional R20K+ for an extended maintenance plan.

I don't understand why people think that men who drive Mini's are gay.
That certainly wasn't the case with the original mini.
Great road handling and nippy performance - what red, blooded male would not enjoy those features?
I wouldn't mind owning one (if I could afford one) and I'm definitely not gay.

No one said anything about men driving them being gay in this thread.

I meant a decent Supermini. Not Korean or Chinese.

Someone mentioned a Picanto, what is the resale value like, anyone own one?

Someone did and the guys in the office where I work also think the same.

I don't think that it's a "gay" car. You just usually expect to see a woman driving it. I shouldn't really be talking though

I have had my 09 Mini Cooper S since last year May and so far its been a lovely drive. I got her when she had 27k on the clock, and now sitting at 53k...

Pros: Still the funnest car in its class to drive (have had PGTI and Fiesta ST owners remarking on how fun the drive is)... Good power and amazing handling. Under motorplan, the minor issues that I have had, have been sorted out by BMW.

Cons: Do not get the car if some squeaks and rattles irritate you. All Mini's have these, and no amount of moaning to the dealer will get rid of them. The fantastic state of our roads, hard suspension and run-flat tires don't do much to help the situation.
