Three loud beeps when I switched on my pc

I see it's Hitachi Maxell, made in Japan, so you're probably right. It's not some Chinese rubbish. ;)
Quality of the battery in this place (for running CMOS clock) is a secondary issue, as battery is not exposed to any stress. It might last shorter time, particularly when temperature inside case is high and in the worst case scenario it will leak, damaging motherboard, but it happens only if battery is flat and not replaced immediately.

Nice to hear it works now.

Thanks for the feedback.

Glad to know you back up and running - few things worse than a dead computer

(always leaves me in a state of high anxiety until I get it back up and running :o - family finds it highly amusing  - the rotters)

Today I finally got around to switching the power strip as well. Thanks for the assistance, guys.
