They really need to get the other banks on board....

Thinking about it, can FNB Geo Payments be used by businesses?

Nice one.

I wonder if things like SnapScan or Zapper will eat into this market?

You see SnapScan everywhere. I have seen the Payment Pebble once.

Yoco is more of a direct competitor (And actually a much better product), and I have see that in dozens of places.

Personally I think nfc enabled credit cards will soon be eating into that market - phones already have nfc readers and nfc credit cards have started rolling out (I already have one.) Just need banking apps to support payment using them. Wouldn't be surprised if the likes of FNB bring out that feature soon.

There is a business plan. Get to it, make millions.

I'm not sure South Africans are ready to really trust and understand how the pebble works, i wouldn't trust anyone with a funny looking device to swipe my card. Not yet though.

As a South African, they'll have to sell me days and days of information on why I should trust that device, before Id swipe and then just maybe I will.

But I hope this pebble thing works... I guess it will if they just educate the public that its completely safe to use.

Standard bank will, or even ABSA.

FNB stopped being innovative two years ago or so - just look how expensive their devices have become. Now they just care about upselling their clients to Private Banking, its more profitable.
