I am the technical manager for a small IT company and currently we use an Excel spreadsheet for logging and tracking calls.
But we are in need of something that allows us to track technician performance etc.

Any suggestions on free software that doesn't require a lot of setup.

I can vouch for osticket too.

I have set up the system with having no knowledge of a ticketing system backend, and I had it running family quickly.
There were some frustrating moments, but a bit of basic knowledge of html etc helps.
