Tim Cook's R11.2-billion payday

Tim Cook, Apple Inc.’s chief executive officer, will this week collect the 10th and final tranche of the pay deal he received a decade ago after he took over the top job from co-founder Steve Jobs.

The haul consists of about 5 million shares worth roughly $750 million (R11.2 billion), according to calculations by Bloomberg News.

Don’t forget the transition to services which I’m sure is the bigger thing as smartphone incremental hardware across manufacturers become less enticing and people keep devices for 3-5yrs easily if not more.

Doesn't actually look like that is the case from their financials.

Hardware sales (specifically phones) have grown in percentage of their revenue over the last 10 years.

It will likely change over time of course as services will become the big thing, like they are for most of the major players out there.

Who gives a sh#t really...people make way too much noise around a phone. I have an iPhone because I couldn't get the Xperia Z5 which cost a fortune on contract. Cutover to the iPhone 6 as I had an iPad and liked the interface, which is uniform across the devices.
That whole argument of iSheep smacks of jealousy really. Sure, bunch of nobs from both sides who like to flaunt their phones, so it goes both ways.
