Tim Noakes Not Guilty

I never understood this, why would anyone choose to feed a infant high carbohydrate cereals instead of meat, vegetables, healthy fat and moderate fruits it's basic common sense really.

So the processes food corporations can make their money. Their marketing machine makes you believe their "food" is better than the real McCoy

I wonder how many people actually taste that "purity".

He has a green, orange and red list. You only eat green if you are insulin resistant, have metabolic syndrome, are diabetic or are wanting to lose weight. In this range you want to keep your net carbs (carbs minus fibre) in the range of between 20-50 grams per day (that's between 10-25 castle lites ;) if that's all you have the whole day) which will induce ketosis and your body will use fat as energy, everyone is different. You can include some on the orange list which includes many healthy food's provided you stay in this daily carb range or are on a maintenance diet. The red list is a no go or reserved for treats but it is all the food's high in sugar and simple carbohydrates (less fibre) anyway that shouldn't be on any diet list.

The carbs on the orange list are still valuable but have either more sugar or less fibre so in order to stay in Ketosis and burn fat as energy you should have less the more insulin resistant you are.

Noakes website realmealrevolution explains this in more detail.

Sure, people are hyped about it because it works and is a lifestyle that can maintain a healthy weight without depriving yourself or feeling hungry.

Regarding your comment on low fat food's the problem in the food industry is that when you remove fat from food it doesn't taste very good so they pump it full of sugar and salt.

Salt is a bonus on LCHF diets because your body doesn't retain the salt like it does on a carb fueled diet and it is rapidly flushed out of your system so you get to eat more salt without the negative effects.

Probably because it has no relevance.

Conservative estimates are that legal costs for both sides are around R10 million. (That’s around $756,000.) This case has raised many awkward questions. One is why the HPCSA, a statutory body, has spent so much time, money and resources arguing for dietitians against Noakes. And why it automatically assumes that Noakes is wrong and the dietitians are right.
Well I hope that the HPCSA was liable for his legal costs!

no you misunderstand, this person thought there are "all these low fat companies" conspiring. did not stop to think its from the same company that makes more profit from their normal product. just jumped on a bandwagon.

You did not stop to consider that the "low fat" option is to tap in to a market they would otherwise lose out on. So it's irrelevant which makes more money as it makes extra money.

what? obviously its to cater to people that want a low vat variation.

if people stop buying the low fat product and switch to the regular product of the same brand, why would that company care when people are still buying their products, just not the low fat variation. why don't you get this?

Exactly. Low fat is a big craze. Without it less product sold. Why don't you get that?

All companies are conspiring to get us to eat their products it's called marketing and they make products that the markets want and will buy. I agree it's not a evil conspiracy to make us unhealthy but rather a demand and supply at the least cost and biggest profit scenario.

As far as I am aware the advice to eat low fat came from the medical community and the market followed suit in the same way that new banting products are being launched.
