Time for the snip.

They don't even put you under for circum or appenditis (sp) these days. Circum they never did.

LOCAL anaesthetic as opposed to general anaesthetic (where they put you under) for appendectomies, you sure about that? Anyways back on topic, wife wants me to have The Snip done too after our second kid. Ain't happening, for now... the thought alone still doesn't sit well with me.

oh bugga that, i didn't even give my husband a chance to think about doing this. i went ahead and told the doctor to tie my tubes when i had my last child during the c-section. i think my husband was shocked as he was standing waiting for his daughter to be born. not waiting around to fall pregnant with another child. no way.

If it was up to me, the minor and brief pain would be much better than having another child but my wife wants a number 2 first so alas I have to wait.....

Had mine done under local towards end of last year. Drove home. A few days of slight discomfort - accurately described here already, and then all back to normal.

Most awkward part was the cold, cold, cold surgery theatre, and 6/7 female nurses flittering around - and nothing but a little curtain setup so that *you* cannot see what's happening... Almost as if they were being put on a stage... :) And did I mention it's a really cold theatre? ;)

Oh well. That aside - way less trauma than what I was anticipating. Won't stop me from freaking out any mates who decide to do the deed though... :)

Oh god there is no ****ing way. I would completely freak out. I can barely stay conscious when they're drawing blood, much less lie there pondering life, the universe and everything while some surgeon slices away at me.

I need to go for the cut too... but I'm freaking scared. I'm worried about the pain .. man , I can handle pain.. but getting cut in the nads makes me cry just thinking about it.

Wife gave me an ultimatum. I need to go for the snip because she's stopping (chemical) birth control this December. I've been postponing for the last 7 months already :D

It's not that bad. My OH had it done some years back and he is typically very "pieperig" when it comes to pain. He recovered quite quickly and didn't whine overly much. So if he can do it, anyone can.

I'm scared ****less of the pain to be honest.. those dudes are sensitive...

The pain I can handle. I tolerate pain without too much fuss and bother. The only (ignorant) question I have is whether it affects your sex life?
