I learned from @3WA to cook a beef roast / chicken on Monday and eat it up until Thursday. Monday I’ll eat it as is with veg on the side, Tuesday in a wrap, Wednesday shredded in pasta, Thursday morning (if there’s any left) on a sandwich. Saves on cooking time and decision making and electricity. Sometimes I don’t even need the variation.

I shop using Checkers 60/60 and I am trying to figure out staples so there’s less thinking involved. Saves me at least 2 hours a week.

@Herr der Verboten made me realise that my Achilles heel is micromanagement but I like to fuss with detail. So what I’m trying to do is have my cake and eat it by fussing about an optimal schedule and the details in my spare time, but not allowing any of that kind of thing while executing on the plan.

I’m trying rapid trial and error to make less important decisions.

Less and less "friends".
Big deal. If I think about all the time I’ve wasted on “friends” the last five years… but I have that sorted now.

Can’t get that time back but at least I got the wisdom.

Good on you for sorting it out.

These "friendships" take up more than just time. You'll end up spending a fortune on maintaining friendships also. Birthdays, fortnightly braais, and the odd "please lend me R2000. I truly need it." Next thing the guy's status on WhatsApp is him with some ho's at the local drinking establishment.

My golden tip. Although you’re more creative with the variations than me. I can eat the exact same thing for supper, four days in a row, no problem.

Money is also time. I’m quite happy to Uber rather than drive if the place I’m going to has scarce parking. I’ll buy a new car to avoid having to waste time on repairs and having to sell it after a few years. Etc.

Yeah, we all can probably do the same. Important question is can your SO do the same, of course if married.

Monday nights & Woolies rotisserie chicken's been my routine for years.. cheaper than takeout, healthy meals sorted for the next 2-3 days, dogs love the scraps, can use the bones to cook stock if you're that way inclined, life is good, everybody is happy.

Back in 2007, June 7 - I asked my father what he wanted while on his dying bed, and he said... more time. I was so young, it did not make sense to me. Now I get it - time is what I value more than anything else, I pay people to do things that waste my time. People put too much value on money, but I only like money for its ability to buy me some time...

SO does what @Nike7 does. Use the bulk meal as a base and add or modify it to add flavours and variety. That’s a bit too hedonistic for me.
