Time is Money.

Not rushing to get home in peak hour traffic even when there's nothing to rush for, I let the peasants who stay in some faraway homeland own the road and rather spend the time to wash the car or do something meaningful.

I used to do the same in the morning but boss got sneaky and started wanting some stuff before 8 am, stuff that I can only do in the office.

Firstly, I was lambasted in another thread because we employ a domestic and was accused of being lazy etc.
I evaluate most mundane/big tasks and decide that my time is worth more than paying someone to do it.

Secondly, I try and organise my work/chores in a way that items happen synchronously e.g. First switch on the dishwasher before packing away the groceries, or run a script and then work on other analysis work etc.

Get a sharp knife and proper kitchen utensils. Then learn proper technique allowing you to cook super fast

I work hard and time is money for me.

I use garden services and a good domestic to ensure home/property is always neat and tidy and also helps with supporting others

I can tell you as I employ a domestic as well that I am def not lazy my time is just worth more than cleaning my house. So I def echo this.

If you can afford it DO IT

I got burnt twice. Once from a cleaning company, other from a referral. Domestics burgled/stole/setup my properties elsewhere. I now only use foreign domestics - no issues so far form the last decade.

My own house - no domestic. It's just a 1 bedroom flat with minimal space - just for me to sleep and prepare food.

Yeah, we all can probably do the same. Important question is can your SO do the same, of course if married.
Don't get married. In the same category as #6's tip.

Not worth losing half your **** + alimony.

Bad advice. You get married - but with an antenuptial.
Can be thrown out. Why stress? But by all means, enter into your contracts of love and affection to secure your magical unicorn.

If your potential wife isn't a hoe or a gold-digger, she will most certainly agree to an antenuptial, since it benefits BOTH of the people in a marriage.

Whilst living alone, I cook for two people for four days of the week. Fridays I'm usually too drunk to bother with eating so I have lunch and supper for both the weekend days.

It's something I've actually started when still married. I have two kids. The wife (or I) would dish an extra plate of food every evening and we froze it. On Friday for supper we each had a different meal. The person who got Thursday's meal would usually complain because it's the same food two nights in a row, so we took turns.

It gets awkward when you have people over and they start questioning why each family member is eating a different meal!

If a woman wants alimony from you then you were an idiot to begin with in not noticing she's a gold-digger.

I may or may not be in that situation currently :whistling:

1. I get food at work, or on the way from work and place the order on the way, so that I can just collect.
2. I make a couple calls while in the car, time is spent in the car anyway, might as well make it productive.
Few more here and there..

Other side of the coin..
1. I enjoy making food or Braai, so will often spend hours on preparing food rather than 10 mins buying it.
2. I enjoy washing my cars. Also vacuum and polish after. Often also “waste” time doing that as it’s therapeutic, so time well “spent”.
