This is personal tech, and personally I find the Apple brand unattractive ... too brash, gauche, and IYF flamboi, though they make marvellous phones. As a brand it rubs me up the wrong way, and raises all my anti-brand hackles ... I won't wear clothing with even the tiniest visible label, brand or slogan; I tell car dealerships to remove their stickers from my cars; I generally dislike branded corporate clothing, even for my own company, so I really don't like in-your-face loud brands, and Apple is one. Etc, etc.
But you like Microsoft?
This on the other hand is an iPhone box...
And this another...
Not sure where you see the brash, in-your-face and loud branding?
https://www.apple.com/ - Pretty much black and white website with some details and Apple isn't mentioned once in the body of the page.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us - First they try and force their ****ty browser on me with a drop down that takes up 10% of my screen real estate. Then they mention their brand three times before I even scroll and another 4 times if I do.
So yeah subtlety goes Apple is absolutely kind and Google is actually not far behind...while Microsoft falls almost perfectly inside your statement that you claim to be the opposite.
Normally I tend to agree with you on most things but this statement seems very biased...more so considering you used to work for them.
Please do enlighten me how Apple is loud and in your face?
