Hey. I've got the Cell C 2gb special from Mweb for my wife's galaxy note 10.1 earlier this month.
So far we used around 800mbs. When checking our remaining data, I got this message:

Must be a mistake...right?:wtf:
Mweb's Cell C 2gb on galaxy note 10.1.jpg

You better hope that is a mistake.... :D

Must be, no way Cell C can charge you R194 per MB. Something is screwed up somewhere

aaaah, you're now going to experience the true incompetence that is the cell C call center. Good luck- Grab my popcorn and see you on the other side.

Oh no not you too... happened to my friend as well who had to pay R68,000 for the
Cell-C 2GB special, because he didn't dial *115# to activate the Backend-OOB Service,
where his usage got stuck on R0,00 and was charged month end at Normal-OOB rates.
I am of course talking out of my ass here, and i'll see myself out now. :erm:

Why hasn't this been mentioned on the forums or placed as a sticky!

Please tell me this an early Aprils Fools Joke or photoshop job cause paying R68,000 for internet is madness better to get uncapped adsl and have peace of mind.

OOB are shockers that is why I'd rather get prepaid data.

Does your wife have ONAVO installed on her device that way she can set a limit on data usage for the month.

I hope it's just a billing/accounting error.

May I never see a blerry screenshot like that on any of my devices in my lifetime!

OP - I hope that's a mistake.
Let us know.

Check your Data Usage in the Settings Menu to see if any app has been DL'ing anything worryingly.

Jislaaik!

EDIT: Ok - just seen that it's registered the 800mb of data - but the way its calculating is at prices Vodacom would've considered standard in the 80's. :erm:

No one said I must do that. The mweb employee gave me the sim and said "everything is done, we can use it now"

No she doesn't have that, but didn't do much on the tablet besides emails. I used most of the data, and we definitely did not use more than 1 gig!

Data usage app says we've only used 660 mb

I mailed the mweb store and cc'd the billing department (just to let them know). I'll phone cell c later today since I can't find an email address on their site...

And this is why I will never use cellular data services on a contract.

You can set your data limits in the settings. You dont need Onavo to manage that.

Mine looks a bit different (Just My ROM), but all Android have this since at least ICS:

Hi,

We strongly suggest that you should contact mweb regarding this, normally they put all cellc numbers under their umbrella account and they would then debit separate amounts from individual clients as per agreed contracts. For e.g in you agreed to a R199.00 package they will only debit this amount but when you do a balance check it will show a consolidated amount of all clients as your numbers are under one account number which belongs to mweb.

We hope the above is clear but should you need further assistance or more clarity please let us know.

Regards

Does your assistance include a set of clean underpants? A suprise bill of R150k (true or not) has that kind of effect on a person .. :D
