I need a switch where I can press how long the electrical items must be switched on for , then it must be automatically switched off.

I googled and came across American solution for bathroom timers, which will work in this case..but I'm looking for a local solution before getting from US. See these pics I found online.

Is there anything locally? I could only find these auto timers with like a round clock which automates the time of switch on/off...but here I want to MANUALLY switch on, and it must auto switch off.

Any ideas?

Have you looked into a smart plug/wall socket (sonoff/bneta/host of others).
Once setup, you can control from your phone and add multiple shortcuts to do the above, so at a press of shortcut buttons on your phone you can ask it to switch on and after defined time automatically switch off.

could custom build a switch using the GPIO pins on one of many smart switches.

Cool idea, you can implement that here but not as fancy, a Sonoff etc might be easier but you can have a look here and browse.

Sonoff?

My lights have timers. schedules, triggers the works.

Alarm goes off, light go on
Door opens, light on
I am away, lights jump onto schedule

As mentioned above.. better to invest in sonoff and integration into your smart assistant due to the flexibility it affords.

thank you all for the input..
actually let me explain the situation.
I have a live in domestic, well sort of.. she stays in when she wants to...
thing is that the 60l geyser/water heater i installed in her bathroom goes on and off like clockwok via a timer switch morning and night as setup.
However, the days she's not in, the geyser warms up for no reason and uses up quite a bit of electricity.

So a simple timer switch will switch the heater on for 30mins, warm up the water, she can use it and it switches off automatically after 30 mins... then she switches on again 30min before she wants to use it..voila.

UK and US have these switches. I was hoping to get one in SA.

Put a sonoff in (might want to install it with a contactor) and then put in a form of presence detection. So the geyser comes on at the specified times, but only if there is presence in the room/flat

Sometimes an even easier solution can be possible. I assume this heater tank is connected to a plug/switch that she has access to in the bathroom? Turn it off (remove timer) and when she needs to use it, she must turn it on - and off when done.Train her to do it, and get in a temper the first few times she forgets , incl escalating threats like she will pay for electricity because she didn't turn off. It will solve itself. If not, fire her and get someone who listens .

But I am partial to home automation myself and my geyser for kitchen only turns on for 1.5 hours ,the three days for my domestic is there and then on weekend for us. Saves a massive amount of electricity.using sonoffs as described earlier.

Tied to 'vacation mode' config setup on my home assistant, they turn off immediately when we are away (like today) so no energy is used. On the day we drive back to home, I just turn off vacation mode and all heating devices on the schedule they are configured for.

Good idea, thank you. I tried the manual option and she must switch off..but she forgets...and we all forget.. so i can't blame her.

Let me check that SONOFF option everyone here is talking about.

The most important component of my first recommendation is that YOU must not forget. Like all manager/direct report type relationships when the report sees you don't follow up , they then take it to mean it's not important and hence non compliance.

Hence if you go for this option, set a reminder on your phone to go and check and immediately notify her if she left it on, for example. 7 days or in your case, since it's random when she stays, three weeks should be enough for the habit to set for her (and you to check up - just in case)

Just hook a light up to the geyser side in a frequented place , that will remind every one the geyser is on .
