Global investment account

[-]Guys, help me out here please. I can't find the rules that state[/-] how much to invest in a Global investment account in order to get the 3000 reward level points.

edit: Clicking on Forex (top right), then Menu (orange menu on left), then select Global Account:

Accounts
US Dollar Account
British Pound Account
Euro Account
Australian Dollar Account
Indian Rupee Account
Chinese Renminbi Account

Choose one then proceed to fill out online form.

edit2: I found it in the Platinum eBucks rules. Added the amounts in ZAR based on current forex rates:
https://www.ebucks.com/web/eBucks/earn/fnb-platinum-2014.jsp
Have one of the following and maintain a monthly balance:
  • A Euro or Pound Global Account with a balance of at least 1 000 (R13,030 for 1000 Euros or R17805 for 1000 British Pounds)
  • A US Dollar Global Account with a balance of at least 1 500 (R17835 for 1500 USD)
  • A Australian Dollar Global Account with a balance of at least 1 600 (R15008 for 1600 AUD)
  • A Chinese Renminbi Global Account with a balance of at least 9 000 (R17241 for 9000 Renminbi)
  • An Indian Rupee Global Account with a balance of at least 90 000 (R17248 for 90000 Rupee)

Any suggestions on what's a good forex to go for currently?

My COJ account doesn't seem to be counted as online spend when paying via easypay.

Can someone confirm that theirs is?

The Rupee has the best interest rate (6% I think). Probably due to biggest rate fluctuations.
I'm thinking the Euro or Auz accounts, they both tick the boxes of affordability and I suppose being first world currencies there is stability. And obviously out of the two, the Auz account has a better interest rate at 2.5% vs 0.15% for the Euro (might as well be zero!).

My Easypay payments to CoCT goes through as online transactions.

mm.. think I found out why. According to my CC statement the payment went off 02 March. So it will only count for this month's spend.... right?

Thanks.. thought so.

Are the private client bankers (not private wealth) better then the premier ones? I've done some calcs and because I'll be hitting my online CC limit it will probably be better for me to upgrade (extra monthly cost vs additional ebucks is about break even).

A better banking team will probably be the clincher for me as personally, due to past experiences, I do not have much faith in the premier ones.

Let the PC guys answer you for sure, but I get the impression that if I upgrade to PC I will retain my current Premier Banker. I think the service at the end of the day depends on who gets assigned to you, luck of the draw? I guess you could ask for a different one if you're unhappy?

Private clients still falls under the premier team. I personally don't find my banker of benefit to me, I can achieve results far quicker if I action myself. They are email pushers in my opinion, they have no authority to act and rely on the departments within the bank to action a request / feedback. Only benefit in my opinion is the higher rewards threshold. Graphite was the same. If platinum offered the same rewards I'd downgrade in a heartbeat as I don't see any difference in service levels.

have to agree there - sound like they are overworked, but not getting major service levels via private clients :/

Anyone possible have email addresses at Nedbank and Telkom for updating debit orders?

They are the only two issues with my FNB switch it seems.

Rather cancel your debit or and pay telkom online using your CC. On platinum you get 4% on RL5

Unless you need the telkom debit order to make 6 to boost your RL points.

Flip I forgot about that! Cancelled my gym contract last month and was about to cancel my Telkom debit order! Will have to check how many debit orders I have. Does a Smart Device contract count as a debit order?

I was under the impression I can only pay with a debit order.

But still doesn't solve my Nedbank problem. And cancelling amounts to talking to the same people anyway.

Didn't get a credit card for now anyway.

No points for having debit orders? Or is that the 6 you refer to? I think I have about 10 and I don't know what RL is?

Not sure if debit order required for Telkom account payment, but what I do is I pay them in advance via Easypay online so that the debit order doesnt go off.

Note, it seems I have to do this before the monthly billing run which for me is the 14th of the month. If I owe them money when the statement is generated, they will debit me regardless, even if I pay them way before (days before) the scheduled debit order date. OK, I haven't tried a week or two before... lemme do that and see what happens.

Not sure.. I just took a smart device out this month so I'm hoping it does.
