Tips to Boost your eBucks

12.69% more for electricity is one reason to upgrade to Private Clients, but I need more. I'm mostly hitting the ebucks cap on prepaid electricity now on Platinum, if I must pay R1300 instead of R1000 now, the higher cap means R30 more in ebucks each month. Still a long way to go to cover the monthly banking cost though, but the higher earn rates might also help with that.

Our municipality does not currently offer prepaid electricity through Online Banking. You have to buy electricity with cash from certain vendors. Does anyone have know if there is anything I can do to get them to offer it through Online Banking?

I'm in the same situation where I live in the Overberg. I contact all of the pre-paid elec sellers that I could find online, and some of them said that they had tried to get permission to sell pre-paid elec for my town, but they could not get the required permissions from the local municipality. I am guessing that some Municipal official/s may be earning "extra pocket money" from the few local "approved" pre-paid elec sellers. I know of only two places/shops where I can buy pre-paid elec in my town

Hessequa municipality for us. My old man got a prepaid meter installed 2-3 years ago. It's done F-all good in terms of anything. Still get freakin charged a monthly usage fee (over R300?) when we buy prepaid (from Spar I think). He does it so I have yet to see any sort of slip indicating what is what. Will have to investigate this... Never thought to try buying prepaid for the holiday house from FNB, doh! :o

yeah I'm on about R1k electricity usage too... guess I'll be hitting the limit if I convert to PP.

Does anyone know if I buy a Makro voucher using Ebucks and my credit card. Will the 40% discount also apply to the amount paid from my credit card?

No, the discount only applies if you pay in FULL with ebucks.
But you can buy a voucher for as much ebucks as you want (40% off) and then when at Makro, use your CC for the rest.

Just a quick question guys. Can you draw money using cash@till with your credit card? I tried today but it didn't work. Had to use my cheque card.

Not possible with a credit card. Only time I use my cheque card is for the cash@till.

It is possible ,they don't allow it because of the cost :)

I have seen people do it a few years back.

Those interest rates look really good on that FNB tax free account. Just bear in mind its not the kind of account you withdraw from willy nilly due to the lifetime limit of 500k allowed.
