Tips to Boost your eBucks

Quick question from an eBucks noob; when the eBucks was credited this month and the SMS received on the 16th says 'eBucks earned for August' - is that actually only for August or is it up to the date the eBucks were credited, i.e. 16th of this month.?

I ask because I earned a crap-load this month (14,472 eB & all of a sudden on lvl 5 from lvl 3) and it can only really make sense if it includes the first half of Sep as I have spent loads this month. I usually only get around 3000-4000 eB each month I think.

It's eBucks earned for August only, your September allocation is gonna come after 8th of October. The reason for your high earn is jump in level from 3 to 5

Just a heads up in case you didn't know.
Can only buy a max of R5k makro vouchers per day.

Since when? Last month I bought R20k's worth. But you can only buy R5k per transaction

Mmmmm, that isn't true at all. You can add vouchers. A friend of mine bought a new fridge and it was way more than R5k.

How I see it, you can buy R5K voucher a day, and use it how you want. If you want to buy a big tv worth 20k, buy 3 vouchers (R5k, R5K and 2k) ... and go to Makro. I will confirm via my friend how he did it.

Think you are correct. Looked at my sms's. Got 1 a day for 4 days straight.

Hey guys!

Was wondering if you would be able to help me with increasing my rewards level?

The following things I am not receiving points for:

Do all your payments and transfers for 6 months or more via our electronic channels instead of an FNB Branch 1000
Not sure why I am not receiving this as I havent been into a bank since picking up my credit card sometime in Juneish? Any idea why I might not be getting this?

100% of your total monthly card spend is on your FNB Gold Credit Card 4000
I only use my Cheque card at Checkers because for one month I didnt get any ebucks when I shopped at checkers using my credit card - was this broken or am I supposed to use my cheque card?

Have not exceeded your limit or gone into arrears on your FNB Gold Credit Card for one year or more 2000
Havent had it for a year yet

Have an active Smartphone, Tablet or Laptop contract on your FNB Gold Account 1000
Not really interested in getting this, figured it might just cost me more at the end of the day... (will it?)

Have an Investment Account and maintain a minimum monthly balance of at least R10 000 2000
ha! Like I have that much money :)

Have a linked FNB Savings Pocket with Bank Your Change and maintain a monthly balance of at least R5 000 1000
Have money in a savings account, earning much more interest there.

Have a scheduled transfer/payment of at least R250 into an Investment Account and maintain a minimum monthly balance of R2 500 in the same account 1000
This should be applied from September, as the debit went off Sep 1st.

Have an Overdraft Facility of R2 000 or more, a Temporary Loan, a Revolving Loan or a Personal Loan 2000
Dont really have a need for this, but would it be worth it?

Have an FNB Smart Bond that is active and in good standing 2000
dont own a house (yet)

Have an active FNB Home Loan with a min outstanding balance of R100 000 and an FNB debit order or salary stop order set up on the account 2000
Again, N/A

Have an active FNB Vehicle Finance or WesBank Account which you have paid on time, update your contact details in the last 12 months via WesBank Online and give WesBank permission to market to you 500
Again, N/A

Log in to WesBank Online at least once a month* 500
Again, N/A

Thanks for any help :)

June was less than 6 months ago, so if you did a transaction in June, the 6 months would not yet have elapsed. Although picking up a card does not count as a transaction so you must have done something else not to qualify for thse points.

You should be using your credit card for every swipe, including Checkers. Not receiving the eBucks must have been a glitch. These 4000 points will go a long way to helping you hit level 5.

Have an active Smartphone, Tablet or Laptop contract on your FNB Gold Account 1000

Investigate some of the cheaper devices on offer. Perhaps paying for a cheap device might push you to level 5 where your increased earn can justify the spend. This should be done quite cautiously though, as it is a long contract to sign for eBucks.

Have you included the additional eBucks that you would earn if you were on level 5 as a result of storing the R5k in the Pocket? It might be that the additional eBucks eclipses the amount of interest you're earning, but you'd need to do a careful calculation to determine whether this is the case.

A few friends verified ... they bought 4 vouchers in 4 days (R5000 each), and spend all of them in one shot combined :)

Yeah I know you can spend more than R5k... just couldn't buy the vouchers all in one go.

I'm wanting to get another sim (NOT for use in my existing smart device contract) for some additional data. How do I go about doing that?

FNBConnect website yielded this:
Important note:

You may only enable your Vodacom or MTN Service Provider contract SIM card with FNB Connect. This excludes all other SIM cards. Please note this could take up to 7 days.

Does this mean I can link my existing vodacom contract sim and load fnbconnect data on it?

It does mean that.

But, its falling away soon, as in end of October 2015 or something.

Rather go to this link and get a sim (if you want to do it via FNB/FNBconnect): https://www.fnb.co.za/fnb-connect/sim/index.html

Thanks

So reading that:
What you get with Connect Prepaid
50MB FREE** in data every month to Surf the net, Whatsapp, BBM and more!
R15* Back in airtime for every R100 spend (Smart customers)
40%* Back in eBucks on your total FNB Connect airtime spend
* To earn eBucks or airtime you need to be on the eBucks programme or qualify to earn airtime rewards
**You need to register your number for inContact or Cellphone Banking
or
Recharge your Connect Prepaid SIM with a cumulative prepaid airtime value of R35 per month

If I just want to use it for data, will I still get back 40% if I go via this prepaid option? The mention of "Airtime" is confusing me.

the 40% depends on whether you are on reward level 5 I think? Not sure
As for data, technically it is an airtime topup via the fnb banking channels, but not 100% sure.

I need to draw R20k in cash. When I go to Checkers to do cash at till for R500 they give me the furry eyeball.
Any better ideas of how to withdraw largish amounts of cash. Best I can think of currently is EFT to a mate and then getting them to draw it out
