About to make my first discounted Makro purchase. How do I do this? Just log onto ebucks website and buy a virtual voucher?

Damn I did my 1st purchase as well this past week

R3999 refrigerator and only paid R2399 - what a bargain with lvl 5 & 50% off.

Has anyone had any luck drawing larger amount of money (few thousand) from Cash@Till?

I went to my local Checkers branch, and they said they didn't have enough in the tills

So i want to use my ebucks to buy a phone, whats the most efficient way to do that? I checked Makro's (go the Makro vouchers route) website for phones and they have not updated it in ages, everything looks over priced.

Managed to draw 2k @ the Checkers I frequent. Most times they don't have that amount in the till but the line controller is called and the cash is brought to the till from a room somewhere. Cashier signs the controller's log book and the transaction is completed.

Ok, thanks. Maybe I'll try another branch

One of the guys has posted previously that he calls the store in advance to have the cash ready for him.
(Of course, that assumes that you know in advance that you need a big sum of cash)

40%, surely?

I've bought a lot of stuff this year with eBucks:

  • 10 foot trampoline with side nets
  • 6 Burner Terrace Leisure gas braai
  • 16 place (48 piece Noritake dinner service)
  • Wicker patio lounge suite
  • Power tools (Bosch multiool, Black and Decker circular saw and angle grinder)

Sorry if it has been mentioned already:
Do we still earn eBucks for buying prepaid electricity from FNB?
I see them mentioning it on the ebucks site but when I check my points on that drop down list (where it breaks down the categories of what you earn) there is nothing for electricity.

Edit: I see it is only for the premier accounts :( I'm on gold

If you can get to RL5, you'll score more than enough extra eBucks from electricity purchases to justify the extra cost of upgrading to Premier. Premier is about R60/month more than Gold in the bundled price option

Since it's free, if I really need the cash and have a few minutes, I take R500 from a cashier then walk around to the next one as many times as required.

A phone from Makro is the only way you're going to get one with a 40% discount. What sort of phone are you looking for?
Makro has recently started stocking the Mi 4, and apparently the RedMi is also on its way (i.e. in the next few days/weeks).

It might be worth your while to visit a store if the online catalog hasn't been updated. You'd also need to compare whether the overpriced phone with the 40% discount comes in cheaper than spending your eBucks without the discount.

Alternatively, you can use your eBucks on Takealot although you won't get a 40% discount, so I doubt it would be cheaper than going the Makro route.

Don't earn enough to get the cc, so will lose out in the end :)
Will keep the RL5 on gold :)

Makro has the Mi4 at the usual retail price (R3800), my brother bought one early this month.
And yes ... I also had to accidentally spot it in the store and tell him about it, cos the website doesn't mention it.

Can I withdraw money from a PnP Express shop?

I don't have a PnP or Checkers/Shoprite close by and need parking money :D lol

hi, there is just way too much here too read through. I am looking at increasing my level and earning more points. is there anybody that is clued up with this model and can offer advice? I would prefer to speak telephonically or whatsapp instead on writing on email. kindly pm me should you be able to guide me. thanks in advance.

I'm always astounded how lazy people are, and then while being so also want to have it their way and expect a bloody hand out.

Especially so when it's all AT THE SOURCE of the concept to begin with.

Just read the ****ing ebucks website. It's not hard. If you can't even do this, you'll never get to Lv 5 anyway because it will be too much "effort" and you'll always be looking for the shortcut.

I joined late and had to read 250+ pages... I did it, but it really would have been nice to have a short cut. I don't blame the guy for wanting to better spend many many hours of his life than to read through the whole thread. Took me a few days of speed reading. Indeed there are some good tips buried in the mountain of chat here, but if someone new was to be directed to the eBucks calculator (as was the case) I think it provides all the basic info needed.
Keep the love flowing guys... this thread is fkn awesome.
