Sorry, a little off-topic but maybe worth it as a warning.
I noticed that a R803.62 petrol fill-up wasn't reflected as a fuel purchase on my CC statement.
Phoned Premier Banking and they said the petrol station used the wrong machine to swipe my card, used the one linked to the shop inside. That leaves me R60 out of pocket on fuel rewards.
Apparently now I have to go get the petrol station to reverse it with the wrong paypoint and then re-swipe with a "petrol" paypoint to get my rewards.
How are we supposed to know which is which?

I spoke with a ebucks Rep about this. He said that the bank has no control on how the POS swipe machines are set up - whether they are setup as "Purchases" or "Payments" (as I remember), and that this would affect whether ebucks considers the transaction to comply with their rules or not. He recommended that in order to be sure that the transaction would be correctly allocated, that I (i) use a FNB Fuel/Garage card or (ii) Use a cheque card. A credit card has the ability to be transacted as either a purchase or a payment, the others not.

Hi, On this point.. and i could be wrong.. so take a look.. but i have a petrol card once again for 2 reasons
1) It gives me a AA membership
2) It gives me 6 free "take me home when drunk" rides..
I have not used either of the services... but should I break down or be drunk I certainly will... And I do get both of these above with my insurance company (Santam) too... but I would prefer not letting my insurance company know that 1) I was broken down or 2) drunk
But now its a good reason to use it for fuel to make sure it goes through the right paypoint.
Dat interest though..
If you swipe your credit for fuel it has the 55 days free interest, just don't swipe your petrol card for fuel or you will be charged interest.
Another reason you want a petrol card is that they never clone petrol cards. I've had 3 incidents in the last two years where my credit card was cloned, and I traced it to a petrol attendant. After switching to a petrol card the cloning stopped.Hi, On this point.. and i could be wrong.. so take a look.. but i have a petrol card once again for 2 reasons

Slightly off topic here but how's this for "customer service"...
Since FNB is using my last 12 month's spend to calculate my RL points, i asked them to give me a month-to month breakdown of my spend.
(That way I could tweak my habits to maximize my RL points. So if i was R1000 short of making the max RL points for spend, I could maybe draw R1000 cash@till and pay some stuff with cash rather than scheduled payments / EFTs)
Their response (paraphrased) : "Go do it yourself"
Hello HelloPeter
If you swipe your credit for fuel it has the 55 days free interest, just don't swipe your petrol card for fuel or you will be charged interest.
You pay interest the moment you swipe your card for certain transactions.
Look at section 23.2.1.
https://www.fnb.co.za/downloads/credit-cards/Terms-and-Conditions-effective-October-2014.pdf
Simple reasons...You mean that you do not know how much you spend each month? Don't you look at your statements? You can get back statements online (at a charge.
Why should you expect FNB to do your accounting for you?
And this is why I like premier banking...
"I want a petro card linked to my credit card"
"You are aware of charges"
"Yes"
"Authenticate please"
"Done"
"Card has been ordered. Will be delivered to you at your office"
"k thx bye"

:wtf:
That's like addressing a bunch of starving street kids and saying:
"That's why I prefer eating at The Grillhouse"
I really hope you didn't mean to come off sounding like a <insert derogatory term here>
