What are the drawbacks with having your will at FNB? Why would they want you to?

There's an annual fee, right? I know I pay an annual fee for my will's safekeeping (not with FNB).
Also, isn't there a fee applicable if FNB is appointed as an executor?

What are the drawbacks of having FNB as the executor of the estate? I know that my aunt was the executor of my mothers estate, and it was a lot of work.

Sounds like there is a catch there somewhere. I mean, why else would they incentivize you to do it?

They will get administrative fees in the execution of the will before paying out to the beneficiaries. And it can be high.

If you don't choose them, the admin fees will go to lawyers/attorneys anyway, wont it?

The Executor of the estate is eligible to charge up to 3.99% of the estate value for his fee (to execute the estate). This is standard in SA.

Obviously thats where FNB makes their money. Appointing your own executor to your estate has its advantages, for example: you can appoint someone in your family to distribute your assets equally and fairly, as per the instructions of your will. Also, your estate can be executed much faster. Appointing someone that doesn't have any relevant background (Estate planning, Law ec) can also cause some challenges, chances are you will have to get an executor in any case and still ultimately pay the fee.

Ill rather keep my executor at FNB, and pay the fee. Any reputable financial adviser will in any case build the 3.99% into your life insurance needs.

Just a headsup; If you want to get the points you have to keep your will in FNB's custody (R100 per year)

You can get a free will, and keep in in your custody, but you wont get the points

Anyone noticed that the Builder's Warehouse ebucks Gift Vouchers have disappeared from the store? I was saving up enough to buy lots of these vouchers and get the 40% discount.

They are back in the store

I wonder when eBucks will begin reflecting this month.

The 1st ebucks earn item already reflects on my account today. Specifically ebucks earned from checkers. Looks like it showed up around midnight this morning.

Are the share builder and share investor accounts seen as investment accounts? If they are does that mean you get 2500 reward points plus 1000 points for a balance of 10k and a cumulative trade of 15K?

Does anyone know of it is possible to get a monthly statement from e-bucks?

There used to be details on the credit card but no more.

You can see a transaction list in FNB Online banking... dunno if that helps?

Not sure but I don't think so. They aren't in the investment account section.
