Gold Cheque account:
Number of additional products or services used: Value-add services and products include: additional Card, Linked Petro Cards, Smart Device, Savings Pocket with Bank Your Change and a minimum of R500
1. 2 Products - 1000 points
2. 3 Products - 1500 points
3. 4 Products - 2000 points

So do I qualify for 1000 points if I have two smartdevices? Or does only one smartdevice qualify as a product for these points?

Also, what would be the easiest/cheapest of the other products to add in order to get the 1500 points or even 2000 points extra?

From what I can deduce Gold accounts do not get eBucks "credit" for smart devices, only platinum accounts holders do.

^^ Probably a glitch in the system??

@peeryus; This is really something that FNB needs to work on. Why should FNB customers have to deal with an inept eBucks department?

That's not all. When you phone FNB re. eBucks allocation issues, they tell you to call eBucks. When you then call eBucks they say it is a FNB issue. Great strategy.

I have no clue WTF is going on with my eBucks. There are 2 separate allocations on my FNB banking. The one contains two September allocations. The other one contains an October allocation. I went from 2nd tier to 4th tier this month, so got about 6000 eBucks. Looking at "how I earned" those points it doesn't make sense. I got points for services I do not have. Next month I probably get no eBucks... CC statements all of a sudden do not have any more eBucks info either. No one can tell me why.

Will wait and see what happens.

I call bull**** too. Please let us know what happens.

I also heard that you don't qualify for the international purchase points unless its over R1000 spend a month.

Can anyone provide some clarity on this as I didn't get those points either and I pay eBay / PayPal / Hosting via my CC...

Thanks,

Just received a call from fnb. The gentleman confirmed that it has to be physical swipes for international purchases. this points would of taken me to level 5.

Sorry, a little off-topic but maybe worth it as a warning.

I noticed that a R803.62 petrol fill-up wasn't reflected as a fuel purchase on my CC statement.

Phoned Premier Banking and they said the petrol station used the wrong machine to swipe my card, used the one linked to the shop inside. That leaves me R60 out of pocket on fuel rewards.

Apparently now I have to go get the petrol station to reverse it with the wrong paypoint and then re-swipe with a "petrol" paypoint to get my rewards. :(

How are we supposed to know which is which?

Good question, I filled up three times last month and only one reflected.
I am new to eBucks, so just want to know if all your eBucks are added and updated once a month, or does it reflect as you transact?

Your purchases reflect after a full calendar month and it's usually by 8 th . If you are facing problems with your fuel purchase then send problem transaction details to [email protected]
and they will manually allocate them

He's talking crap, I got the points for international purchases and haven't been overseas in years. I only have a recurring payment going off my cheque card for a Usenet provider, and buy the odd iTunes/PSN voucher...

He needs to swipe on a standalone device, i.e. The portable one that they bring to your car. Do not allow him to take your card to the device at the shop...

Has anyone opened a Global Account to get that extra 3000 points?

I opened a euro account, which was really easy online, but transferring funds to it is turning out to be a little more complicated than I expected. First you need to select a reason for the transaction, all of which are individual or foreign investment reasons. Apparently the reason does not matter much, so I would just choose Other and consider it a sort of European holiday savings account.

Once you select a reason, you need to provide your tax clearance certificate number. I was under the impression that the individual discretionary allowance is R1-million and you don't need a TCC for that. Leaving the field blank doesn't work, seems to be required. OK, so get a TCC? Nice, it's free and you just apply for it with SARS. The form asks for your investment amount and expected return, which I can't really guess. At this point I started thinking that just getting this for some ebucks points isn't worth the hassle. Also, I seem to have some studying to do regarding Forex in general.

I don't get why I didn't get the international purchase points then, given I had a Netflix debit go off my credit card and I made an Amazon.com purchase.

I will need to check with my old man as he has a card I had issued to him. This may very well be why not all our fuel transactions have been recognised of late

Irritating that one has to keep tabs on these things but rules are rules

Something I remembered last night. We should all take note of the card levels of those with this issue, I know that Netflix or such counts for me as I'm only on gold, which has international and online in one group. It might well be that platinum and up does in fact require an international POS purchase

Platinum and graphite rewards rules clearly state swipes - bit of a bummer as i do many online international purchases.

Downgrade to Gold if you don't need the slow lounge...

Thanks citizen, I'll give it a bash and report back

It was a portable one that he brought to my, which makes it even more difficult to distinguish between the "shop" device and the "fuel" device.

Yip it really sucks. I am 750 points short of level 5 without these points.
