It is not that much of an administrative hassle. You apply for the temporary loan online within one minute and it repays itself the next time a deposit is made into your account. The "cost" of R39 would be less than the opportunity cost of having at least R10000 and/or R17000 in an investment and global account respectively.
It might not be the best way to earn points, but if you need 2000 points to get to the next rewards level it will definitely be worth it.
i had the same feeling. dont believe in FNB's investment returns, thus taking out a small loan for equivalent points, and investing the difference in satrix for example is much more lucrative i think
