No ebucks or reward level updates for me yet. Should be my first month on L5 PW, and should get near eB 40,000 for March spend.

I just checked my account and my April points accumulation - when I click on how I got this says I should be on reward level 3 but when I log in the opening page tells me I'm on reward level 2?

All I need now is a smart device, investment account and switch my credit card to fnb and reward level 5 should be in sight. Does anyone know if those tax free etf accounts count for ebucks?

Thanks for all the valuable info.

Erm. Doesnt look like my Easypay.co.za payments in March counted as online shopping. :(

Get more points and move up
Here's what you could do:

* Swipe on international purchases or shop online using your Gold Cheque or Credit Card (excl. cash transactions) 2500

Oh. I just notice that I DID do online shopping. Bought something small (R10) from Takealot on the 30th of March. Grrrr. I want my 2500 extra points and my RL5!!!!

Damn!!! What did buy? Well done on level 5

Thanks. Just moved into our own house so we needed some furniture and appliances. Also went on holiday by car and paid for bookings and fuel on my card.

Should be something like this
eB 5,000 Smart Device (100% of R500)
eB 10,000 Checkers (15% of R6,500)
eB 6,000 Fuel (15% of R4,000)
eB 1,500 Prepaid Electricity and airtime (15% of R1,000)
eB 3,000 International (6% of R5,000)
eB 2,000 Online Shopping (6% of R3,500)
eB 10,000 Shopping (3% of R30,000 + 1% of R10,000)
Total: eB37,500

What is the best way to earn more ebucks for the following : paying your tswhane water and lights account

I usually go to pick and pay and they do a 3rd party EFT on my behalf at the till.

I read here that a lot pay it online via the Easypay site.

I see you earn double if you pay it online.

Anyone can confirm ?

Keep that up for 12 months and you at 450k in eBucks or 75k in discounted vouchers. I'd say fnb paid you to bank with them;)

Mine did. Maybe still to update...

looking at the earn rules today, can someone just verify in normal english what this might mean :

Checkers & Shoprite limits and rules
Your maximum qualifying Checkers & Shoprite spend is capped at 30% of your qualifying FNB Private Clients Card/s spend for the month, with the maximum amount you can earn on your Checkers & Shoprite spend capped at eB20 000 per month

Would i thus need total my spend on all my cards, then take 30% of that to get a max for checkers?

PS
Easypay should definitely be an online transaction. will double check my earn this month as well (once i figured out the limits..)

March was a bit of a one-off, but I do see myself averaging about eB 25,000 a month, so that's eB 300,000 a year. Enough for R50k in vouchers.

I did have to switch some investments to FNB, declined lower interest rate quotes from SAHL and SBSA to have a FNB home loan, keep some money in a global account, to get to RL5. I think it's worth all that effort and opportunity cost. I just hope they don't change the rules too much at 01JUL15.

Reason for asking the easy pay:

on the ebucks site it says :

Category

FNB Gold Accounts

FNB Platinum Accounts

FNB Private Clients Accounts

FNB Private Wealth Accounts

RMB Private Bank Accounts

Shopping (Swipes) 0.15 % - 1.5% 0.3% - 2% 0.3% - 2.5% 0.3% - 3% 0.3% - 3%
Online Shopping 0.3% - 3% 0.6% - 4% 0.6% - 5% 0.6% - 6% 0.6% - 6%

Online shopping / paying is double ebuck earnings

Will online shopping be seen if you link you account via FNB (making a beneficiary) ?

PW criteria make it a challenge to get to RL5 but as you say if the numbers work out and the opportunity cost is negated then definitely worth it.

I suspect the changes are going to be substantial, the recent cut in interchange rates has to have an impact on reward programs but I'm really hoping they find a way to keep it attractive as it is now. Make hay while the sunshines, we have till October to enjoy as is.

Also hit L5 for the first time this year. Using Cash@Till makes a huge difference...
