Tips to Boost your eBucks

How do I see the breakdown of previous month's eBuck's allocations (can only see current month)?
I know it's not the 11th yet, but I don't see my 0.6% earn on spend where I've exceeded the cap on high earnings (on Private Clients I should be getting 0.6% on Checkers, Fuel, Online after I've maxed out the 15%, 15% and 5% caps respectively)
Bumping this question...

Here's my earn breakdown - no real mention of the 0.6% above threshold earnings...

I take it most of you have seen this?

"In an effort to make eBucks Rewards even better and more beneficial to you, FNB will be changing the way you collect reward level points and earn eBucks on your FNB Platinum Accounts from 1 July 2015.

What is changing?
The most important changes have been highlighted below for your convenience.

For a detailed breakdown of all the changes and to see how you can earn more eBucks and save more rands, click here.

How do you qualify to earn eBucks?
The current requirements for earning eBucks on your FNB Platinum Accounts are as follows: Your account(s) must be active and in good standing, you must transact via FNB's electronic banking channels at least once a month using your own banking profile, and you must have the minimum monthly deposit relevant to your account type.

From 1 July 2015, this last requirement will be adapted slightly. You can either have the minimum monthly deposit relevant to your account type OR instead maintain the minimum monthly balance relevant to your account type.

What else will be different?
From 1 July 2015, customers who currently pay the annual fee of R200 to link their FNB Platinum Credit Card to earn eBucks will instead be charged a monthly fee of R16.50. Customers who are on the FNB Platinum bundled pricing option will continue to earn eBucks for FREE!

Some of the reward rates will also be undergoing a little revamp. To see exactly which rates will be affected, click here.

New ways to earn eBucks
Great news! You will be pleased to know that two new categories, FNB Connect and Transport, will be added to the ever-growing list of ways to earn eBucks.

FNB Connect is FNB's mobile service provider that offers FNB customers exclusive deals on mobile contracts and prepaid airtime.

From 1 July 2015, you will earn up to 15% back in eBucks on your Uber rides, which will fall under the Transport category together with your qualifying fuel purchases.

Here's what you'll be able to earn with the new categories:

• FNB Connect: You will earn up to 40% back in eBucks on your FNB Connect contract or when you load FNB Connect prepaid airtime.

• Transport: You will continue to earn up to 15% back in eBucks when you fill up with fuel at any fuel station, and from 1 July 2015, you will earn up to 15% back in eBucks when you book an Uber ride."

thanks for all the info. My issue is now, I don't want to upgrade to the newest IOS on my iPhone ....

Why on earth are you stuck on iOS6? I can only imagine for piracy aka jailbreaking.

Why not put all that money saved towards going legit?

I saw the new versions from people who upgraded ... and the look and feel suck (that is my view)

But even if you hate the look and feel...the loss of functionality you have being 3 versions behind should be upsetting.

My iPhone 3GS is in my daughter's room as a music player and is stuck on iOS6...it is horrendous to use now that I know better.

Upgrade and get it done.

You guys are lucky down there :)

Yeah basically you log a ticket with the City of Cape Town, they send you a reference number with bank details and you EFT the money to them.

Gets delivered to you about 2-3 weeks later.

This is the first ever app that I want to try that needs a never version of what I have installed.

Can I ask what changes are causing you guys to drop down reward levels?

Sjoe ... there is a lot of things moved out. Devices is one I know.

I am staying on level 5 according to my stats, but will see what happens in Aug for July spending

This one is a biggie on Gold account:

Average monthly spend over last year - >R7500 = 4000 points
Is now:
Monthly spend (swipes) in the calendar month - >R7500 = 2000 points

More than offset by:
100% of your total monthly spend is on your FNB Gold Credit Card 4 000
Total monthly spend = Gold Credit Card spend + Gold Cheque Card spend; excludes EFTs and transfers.

Aaaaaaaand FNB scores. Users dances to their tunes. I didnt have a credit card and still dont need one. Yet now I am forced to get one AND to use it in order to remain on the same reward level. It should not be the case.

lol

If you want to play the game, play by the rules. If you do it right, you come out WAY ahead.
If you don't want to play by the rules, don't mumble about being excluded?

Yeah yeah yeah. As long as it remains a game to you. At what point will you stop playing their game?
How much of their products and crap are you prepared to put up with just to score some ebucks? I guess I can answer that one myself: As long as the ebuck payoff is big enough. :)

Just a pity that they also reduced the Checkers cap from 30% to 20% on the new rules (Gold) which means that my ebuck rewards will now also reduce quite substantially. So maybe I get the creditcard and dance their tune. Next year they reduce the cap to 10%? Perhaps lower the fuel cap as well?
Fact is that FNB knows that ebucks are costing them quite a bit. And they will try and squeeze out as much dough from the customers as possible and reduce the size of the ebuck carrot as much as possible. But hey, lets enjoy it while it lasts.

I got myself R1400 of Makro vouchers from my RL5 rewards this month. Let's go shop!
