Is anyone else being charged service fees?

I'm on the platinum bundle (so I have a cheque card and a credit card) and I also have a smart device contract. I see that I am being charged for debit orders, payments and transfers. I mean, there is a fee of R16 for a debit order. But, I see I am still being charged the monthly account fee.

Does anyone else have this?

I know banking fees are going off on the 4th every month. You mentioned you are on a bundle package, thus it would be R199 max monthly. If your banking fees are more, they should refund you on the 4th whatever is exceeding R199

So...I paid for a few things last month, but it only got deducted from my account yesterday...wonder if it will affect my eBucks

The new rules are really daft...

The new calculator on the site doesn't indicate that, whereas the old one did.
The rules for platinum is that after you hit the cap, eBucks are calculated at 0.6%, the rules on gold are silent.
I expect them to trim it, so I'll be pleasantly surprised if the response you received from eBucks holds true.

I've re-read my query with ebucks and it was for calculating the reward level, and not awarding of ebucks unfortunately.

This is what I asked ebucks :
If I spend R20,000 on my credit card ONLINE, in addition to earning 2000 points for sopping online, will it also count towards earning 1500 points from the category "Spend on your FNB Platinum Credit Card in a calendar month . ."

This was their response (verbaitm):
Please note that if you use your FNB Platinum Cheque or Credit Card to shop online you will receive 2000 rewards level points and you will also receive 1500 rewards level points for spending on your FNB Platinum Credit Card in a calendar month.

Unfortunately - thats how some of the merchants work :-(

I HATE when my wife pays for things for the kids... and a week later i get the SMS for my CC saying R738.89 of clothes from naartijie or R900 from the baby clinic. But it is what it is... Seems like some of these guys only put through the payments once a week :-(

yeah stupid offline card machines :(

I can already see a spending of at least R2900 per month, based on the above.
I still have a lot to do in my house so that will push things up by quite a lot, I still need to buy a gas stove, a new fridge, a new washing machine, a couch and another TV.

Camikaze... the Gas stove etc - you should try and maximise ebucks and get Makro vouchers to buy that... especially if you can get to RL5! But i guess im stating the obivious...

I wish i could have done all of that when i bought some new appliances a year ago.... I didnt think of ebucks or what it can do for us :-( BUt now i know!

That's fukkin stupid. I sent eBuck/FNB a query...they better fix it -.-

Only way to fix it is that all merchants get online card machines like they have pick and pay/shoprite.

With offline card machines the merchants manually have to capture it ,which is normally done once a week.

No I mean, they better not add those as payments made in July

That;s exactly what happens.

I used my cheque card by mistake the other instead of the credit card. So now I'll only get 2000 point instead of 3000, putting me on level 4. Sucks:mad:

Going to start leaving my Cheque card at home to be safe.

Well it depends what date his statement will reflect?

Draw a big red X on on your cheque card. Think I'm going to doing that :p

I have a wallet type cover on my cellphone, that can take like 2 cards. I use it for my drivers license and credit card.
The actual wallet with like 10 cards in, I usually leave at home.

I specifically only take the wallet out when I go to Makro for example and need to have my ebucks and makro card with me.

Otherwise I just have too many cards with me, and the regular checkers and/or fuel don't need special cards with me.

Just a clarification ." The new rule says if you spend 100% of your total on your credit card " you can earn 4000 points
At the moment I use credit card for everything except debit orders prepaid airtime and electricity which is bought from cheque account.
What you guys think is it still fine since I'm not using cheque card rather the acc ?Will I still earn max 4000 points?

I rarely need cash and if I do, it must be something planned so then I'll take my cheque card with me.

I use my credit card for the last 5 years mostly. I just need cash for tollgates ( lol ) or parking tickets. And ofcourse, the PO when I renew my car's license.

Hmm transfer some money to ewallet . Don't need card to withdraw

Yea i have to pay one of the house executives in cash. Thankfully we pay her weekly now... but its a pain in the f.a$$... i hate cash as i can never keep track of it. I live through my credit card, i budget with my credit card. Cash - is an absolute nuisance imho...
