Tips to Boost your eBucks

Looks like ebucks site is fixed now for me, can see how I received my points for level 5, for the last time on the old rules.

So, alerted by Sinbad, I realise I earned 20% from Checkers last month and 27% this month. Was about to move more spend to Checkers from Woolworths, but now, what's the point. Meh. 20% max Platinum.

Can anyone decipher this before I make a fool of myself by escalating it? :p

On FNB website it says I earned 18,000 bucks and they will be allocated by 10/7...

Today it shows I've been allocated about 3,000 over the last couple of days...

Previous month was about 15,000. Have I read this wrong and the 18,000 is both months combined, or will they still allocate points shortly?

Well, I got less eBucks this month than last month.

They aren't making it easy. Discovery Card is way superior in that sense so thinking I should just go with that. Non of this rewards level BS and only buy at *****ty grocers.

I have a gold cheque card and with the new rules I will be dropping from RL5 to RL3 unless I also open a credit card to get more point. So I applied for the credit card on online banking and was successful. However now I noticed they will be send me a platinum credit card which I never asked for. Grrrr. Is there any ebuck problems with having a credit card and cheque card of different colours/types?

I guess the platinum credit card will also cost me more per month that a gold version?

Mine still hasn't updated fully.

And I hope that RL1 is still just last month's because of my mid month upgrade.

I lost a shed load of points after last years rule changes until I aligned my cards (one was plat, one was private clients).

No idea how the new changes this month would affect you but I'd imagine you're screwed like I was unless they both match.

Do you have a matching credit card and cheque account ? (I had that same issue)... I had gold on my cheque account, and platinum on my credit card. (But I don't think that rule is important any more as the new rules don't specify that as a requirement)

Yeah both cards are Gold

FNB's eBucks discount still shows Level 2, but RL clearly shows Level 3 now... New Rules should get me to level 4.

Hopefully the ebucks they've allocated will be at Level 3.

Don't think it is 2 months combined.

The "earned in the last x days" thing is based on your reward level at your PREVIOUS allocation.
If you've dropped RLs during the month, you will not get as many ebucks as your "earned in the last x days" says.
So I'd check reward level if I were you?

Pulled in a good haul of around 21500 ebucks this month on Gold.
Sadly with the rule changes that won't happen again.
Booked flight tickets online, the excess automatically spills to shopping credit card after R3500. The ebucks limits on those two categories are eB1050 for online and eB5000 on credit card shopping.
With the spending caps in the new rules this changes to eB900 & eB2250 respectively (added to the fact that online spend doesn't flow through any longer). Booked hotels this month and spend of > 20k will be limited to R3k qualifying spend.
Electricity will also fall away (on gold).
I've channelled as much spend as possible to online, so will have to rethink and find ways to favour physically swiping for stuff again, rates, telkom, etc once the 3k cap is reached.

I'm still on 5 but it looks like I've got 15000 level points for July so will drop to 3 next month.

I'm on phone for the rest of the day but I'll do it tonight. Do you mean the previous page showing the months before June and July?

Yes

What I can see on my ebucks page. I already got my allocation for June, but the points level reflects still on May.

Think it will be corrected after tomorrow

Did they change from xx% off whatever is in the eBucks store, to xx% off selected items in the eBucks store?

They must match to maximise points.
Either change your credit card or your cheque card to ensure that they match...
