How can I via online banking ensure that I comply with the following to ensure that I get the 1000 points:

Be registered for*inContact, update your contact details at least once in a 12-month period via Online Banking, allow RMB Private Bank to communicate with you by giving them consent to market to you and choose to receive all your statements via email only

You're likely already using inContact if you get transaction smses. I updated some phone numbers via internet banking. I already get my statements per email.

As to the marketing consent, you need to contact your banker. That's what I did.

Anyone else charged interest even after paying the full amount before due date?
What kind of interest? There are certain transactions that attract interest from day 1.

e.g buying electricity on ccard would incur interest immediately.

Nope, my electricity is post paid (on Easypay website). Didn't have any different transactions than I normally do. Only thing that came to mind is the interest on fuel (which they haven't charged before). All transactions on credit card.

I also got charged a small amount of interest, don't know why. I have autopayement on the CC, and normally just drop more money in if its a heavy month and i am getting close to limits.

I asked this on another thread aswell, but think any of you on a private package can comment.

Is it worth upgrading from platinum to private ?

You have to do the math. I created an excel sheet that works out my eB earned (3 different calcs for plat/PC/PW with their individual limits). I then minus the the fees for each account type from those eB earned and lastly I add any other perks' fees (O-Daft fee, smart tablet refund).

I got a clear answer that PW would be the most rewarding but alas I don't earn enough to qualify. PC worked out about 200 bucks more in eB rewards than Plat based on my spending... so I upgraded.

Thanks for this. What I cant see ... If I upgrade, I wont get my value for money on PC.

I get refunded R400 a month for my banking fees, and I get R1100 rewarded from Ebucks (Keeping that in mind, I don't spend a lot on my Credit Card either.)

I know a few guys who upgraded to PC, and their earn level dropped to LV1 from LV5.

Earn rules for Plat and PC are identical.. so not sure how that happened. As mentioned before I did not drop when doing the upgrade last month.

From what to what did you upgrade ?

And are you talking about June's spending (rewarded in July) ?

They won't force you to convert to Platinum. I actually downgraded from platinum because I wasn't getting the best benefit out of it...

I upgraded from Gold to Platinum and dropped one to L4 due to not taking into account the old rules were still being used for this months calculation.

Just FYI

Checking my spreadsheet (using averages since March), PW would have earned me about 1000 eB more than PC, which in turn would have earned me about 2000 eB more than Plat. Factor in the 5000eB smart device "refund" and PW is the clear winner if you can get it.

sharing is caring ;)

the excel sheet now - not your salary :P

lol.. I'm sure i did share it earlier.. but lemme go see.

EDIT: File uploaded here : http://www.filedropper.com/ccstatementebucksreconv22

Just download your CC statement in CSV format, paste it into columns B to E, and copy the formulas in the surrounding columns (A and F - AK) down for your new data. Dashboard tab should display everything then.

found this one. but link she is not working

I see it gets nuked after 30 days of inactivity. Uploaded the latest version above.

Enjoy

PS. The one you linked was on that I made for checking your reward levels.. not ebucks earned.

Hi guys

can somebody just confirm my reasoning. i am on PC, which is limited to R7500 per month online. (over the limit , earn rate is 0.6%).
Monthly i pay a few accounts - water and lights for two properties, and investments via credit card, which usually totals about 15k

Thus my idea is to pay some of the bills via checkers money market (eg earn on swipe at 2.5%, and then only put the remaining money through online transactions.

will this work?

Thx
