Question, my cheque/credit card expires end of next month and I just got an sms to say I need to go into an FNB branch to organise a replacement.
Will I lose points for branch transactions? Is there anyway around this? I'm on FNB platinum

Nope. Picked up a new card a month or two ago. Didnt affect me.

I've used them a few times indirectly as it's a common payment gateway for smaller online shops.

But this might help us target that credit card spend.

I was just getting ready to pay Curro via credit card and then saw they charge you 4% extra for the privilege so not really helping there.

I don't think the Visa/MasterCard merchant agreements allow for merchants to do this. We have a few card machines and are not allowed to add a fee to card purchases. Our facility can be revoked.

Speaking under correction I think he meant he would pay PayU and they would then pay Curro? Therefore technically not a violation of Q8 as they are charging a surcharge for payment via PayU, not for credit card payments?

Less is more :p

FNB still says that you can generate more eBucks on a Platinum card than that of a Gold card.
I went with @Mike Hoxbig recommendation that I should get a Gold Credit and Cheque card.

What is the take on this though?

I'm on Gold. You can check a few posts back where I've given my average spend and earn.
The only way to know for sure is to do some detailed calculations for your own spend on Gold and Platinum earn rules.

If I enter before peak time on a Sunday with guests, will they evict me at 15h00?

Lol I don't know. I think there is a rule that says you are only allowed to enter something like 90minutes before your flight time. Nothing earlier. I know they actually made a friend of mine wait outside until she got within the 90minute window and then she was allowed in. This despite the fact that the lounge was empty.

I've never used one of these lounges. What's the big deal?
