Did anybody get charged R6 for the ROADSIDE ASSIST FEE under your Premier Cheque Account?
I'm wondering if this is something new regardless of the R199 Bundle Fee that I pay every month?

I was under impression the roadside assistance was cancelled. Used to have it as R5 on my account, and at some point they stopped deducting it all together. Haven't seen it on the last 3 months statements.

That said, the deduction happened today R6 for the 1st time in a long time.

Mine went off twice. New way of funding their ebucks program?

Now I know for a fact that if I buy this Smeg stove of 20k from Makro; online, I will still be stuck in RL3 for some stupid reason...

On another note, i received this via email, them danging the PC carrot in front of me again and waving the stick in the other hand:
As your banking life-cycle matures, so the need arises for a more focused approach to financial planning and a greater level of service. We would like invite you to upgrade from your current Platinum Account to a Private Clients Account. Private Clients offers you comprehensive banking solutions, financial and fiduciary planning, savings and investment options, complemented by a variety of attractive eBucks Rewards and eBucks Lifestyle offers. You also have access to your very own Private Banker, to help you manage your daily banking as well as continuously present you with opportunities to help you reach greater financial freedom.

Should you wish to continue with your existing Platinum Accounts, please note the name will change from 'Platinum', to 'Premier' effective November 2015. In addition to the name change, your existing Private Banker service will be discontinued in favour of a team of bankers.

My email was a variation on the same theme..

You currently hold Platinum products, and after careful assessment of your financial needs, we are pleased to inform you that from November your Platinum products will now be called FNB Premier. This name change will appear across all channels, effective November 2015. Please note that in addition to the name change, your existing Private Banker service will be discontinued in favour of a team of bankers.

I love all the reasons why the bank wants platinum client to move over to premier. ( LOL )

Its like having cherries on a cake ..... :wtf:

The only reason I'd change to PC now is I would like to retain my named banker :/

In big spending months the % back on eB Rewards will cover the extra monthly service fee charged for PC, however I would not go out of my way to spend 10k extra to get back eB1000 in rewards!

yeah I'm stuck on RL3. I was hoping to be pushed into RL5 already by buying a r7500 dishwasher and a 20k stove.

The current rules are the easiest. You just do nothing. Don't withdraw cash, don't use a branch , don't use your cheque card. Move all your petrol / grocery and spending money onto the credit card.

The wife never listens to me but she is also on level 5.

I only make use of my cc.

I only make use of my cc.
If you're on Gold:
- Use EasyPay
- Use the FNB app
- 3 Debit orders
- Setup AutoPayment for the CC
(I'm sure some of those apply to Premier and above as well, and I'm sure you know all of this by now :) )

Like I mentioned before ... I get to RL5 with a modest* total CC spend of R5k per month and only pay the very necessary fees (R100 for Cheque account, R40 for the CC)

* this is a relative term
