Tips to Boost your eBucks

A quiet ebucks month for me with only eB 17700 earned as I mostly shopped at Makro using my ebucks vouchers. R18k vouchers cost me about 11k ebucks.

So ... after the new allocations have been updated to our profiles ... how much did you guys earn in the year 2015 ?
Is there an easy way to see, or do I need to add up all the allocation?

I used my emailed rewards statement.

For 2015 spend (rewarded in Feb 15 to Jan 16), I got rewarded 278k excluding partner spend. (Private Wealth, 10 months on RL5, 1 month on RL4, and 1 month on RL3)

Yes. But if something is going awry with my deductions, it's easier to cancel the credit card than to change bank account numbers.
It's semi safe

yeh, it's not too bad... as the dispute industry rules protects the cardholder... but the banks want to get rid of these type of transactions, as they (from an issuing point of view) are having to carry the cost.

Silly question - that first requirement to register for inContact and being marketed to ect. I've updated my inContact details...are there any other hidden boxes or whatever that needs to be checked for that to take effect?

Enable on every account that shows up on internet banking.
So for example, make sure it is enabled for:
1) cheq acc
2) cc acc
3) ebucks acc
4) homeloan if you have
5) investment accounts if you have
6) anything else that might show up

Ah! Did not even think to even check the ebucks one...

Only signed up 2 days ago...very n00b still.

Thank you!

<edit>You would not see Lotto showing up in inContact unless you spent over R100 (R101 or greater?). </edit>

Anyway, I was curious and checked on my side.

Online banking gives no indication of what was done on the app.
The PDF statement they send shows you in the second from left column "FNB App Payment To" for any app transactions made by you. However, for Lotto and Powerball it only says "Lotto Purchase" in that left column or "Powerball Purchase".

inContact SMS and email messages will say "@ Smartapp." in the message header/body.

Its possible that they somehow don't count items under the "Buy" menu as app transactions (i.e. Lotto, Powerball, Prepaid Electricity/Airtime, etc...) ?

In the meanwhile I'd suggest doing an actual account to account transfer or payment to another person via the app if you don't want to miss another month of RL5. In case they shoot you down and say that Lotto doesn't count...

edit: It looks like Lotto/Powerball can only be purchased via the app now:

So there you have your proof that you used the app for that purpose, provided Lotto counts as an app transaction that they want you to do in terms of eBucks Rewards rules!

Thanks!

You're posts in this thread are always so informative.

Much appreciated!

Anyone else seeing this?

On my level it says LVL4
eBucks2.PNG

Yet under points it says LVL5. Additionally it says points for JAN are 18500 - yet it should surely be reflecting DEC (as per the graph) surely?

Is it perhaps still being calculated?

I would say you are on level 5. 18500 points puts you on level 5. The other screen will probably update later.

Glad to be of assistance :)

Mine shows the same "glitch".

The historical points data (below) is always out of sync with the current graph type thingy (above). Your "Jan" 18500 points does indeed refer to Dec earn, therefore you will earn at RL5 in terms of December spend. January RL will be determined when they calculate everything early February.

 Now that I check I lost 1000 points somehow as I'm now at 19500 points... need to remedy that to have a reasonable buffer above 18500!

Last month I got 1777 ebucks. I read you get more if you use your cc instead of cheque account, which I did for this month. For every possible transaction I could. And my fuel spend was more than last month.

My ebucks this month? 1496. How???

I also used my overdraft yesterday afternoon (too late) which should give me the points I need to get to level 4...

I scored very well with eBucks last year earned eBucks 37000 so it's a win for me

Hi,

Been thinking... Checkers and makro sell iTunes vouchers don't they? Has anyone purchased them with a voucher? I.e. Makro or checkers voucher bought from ebucks?
Was think this is a way to get a discount on the iTunes vouchers (read Netflix subscription).

Can anyone please explain why my purchases for the middle of the month is not here?
Everything between the 7th of December and the 4th of January is missing.

Quick question, is there a massive portion of your transaction history also missing from your transaction details?

I still don't see anything and I spent approximately R1000 at Checkers on XMas morning.
I just need some confirmation for when I phone and ask FNB what the hell is going on.

So does it happen that some swipes are still outstanding and will be updated?
No. What could happen though is that the place you swiped at only "banks" the transactions a couple of days later, and then those swipes might only count for the next so called calendar month.

If I noticed anything missing then I query it. I generally only check the big percentage items such as fuel, electricity and checkers. I went one step further now and checked online purchases and general spend and it all looks good for my December spend, which in my case includes spend from 29 November because those transactions were only banked on or after 1 December by the petrol station and checkers.

Note, since making my ccard payment date to be on the 26th, my ccard statement almost follows a calendar month exactly. I have found this a huge help in reconciling my monthly spend.
